realm maintances

ok, so for the last 2 weeks we have been having ext maintances so Blizzard could "prepare" for the upcoming exp. however, have they actually changed anything in the game? I mean if they are preparing the realms is it ingamewise or otherwise ? just wondering if there is something new ingame to check out

Preparing the hardware probably.

I'd say that they are upgrading hardware, and probably attempting to increase instance capacity before the expansion hits so we dont get the dreaded -INSTANCE IS FULL-

maybe they give new features to the npcs. commands moves, etc etc.
the reason you cant see it is because you aren't able to activate them before catac
