    Rend

    Hi all,
Im currently in the process of maxing as much dps as i can get
out of my gear and had a question regarding rend. While it is there
in Landsouls Spreadsheet and i know a few warriors use it, Id like to
know what is the best time to use rend and can it really help. I have heard
that having sub 100 ms latency helps doing that lot and im at a constant 200.
So if there are any warriors that use rend very often in their rotation
that can give some advice and their observations about it, Id appreciate it
    greatly.

If you are an Arms warrior you should always be using rend. If you are a very good Fury warrior, you may be able to work it into your rotation.

When both whirlwind and blood thirst are on a 4s+ cooldown, there are no slam
procs, you do not have death wish up and the target is above 75% hp, I personally
usually use a macro that goes to battle, throws of rend and goes back to berserker
without it being a complete waste of damage.

Your going to want to have Rend both glyphed and improved through talents.

Rend is tricky for Fury as only perfect use will give you a minor DPS increase. Even experienced players go without rend nowadays because it's so easy to screw up.

Its good to use if you're applying Heroic Throw or are in Battlestance for some other reason. Otherwise it's lower than a Slam procc in your priority and you must watch that you don't rage starve yourself while doing it.

Otherwise stick to what Strafir says.

I'd like to point out the Fury DPS guide on Tankspot that covers Rend as well. It's a little dated but still hold true afaik: http://www.tankspot.com/showthread.p...-Warrior-Guide

make sure the macro unqueues HS ozzy, if not you might get a swing as soon as you change to zerker and you'll have used up all your rage

Hmmmm. I guess at the very least its worth a try to see if i can
fit it in. If not then ill leave it out. Thanks all for your advice
and tips. I really appreciate it.

Watch in HD and fullscreen and watch my enlarged Action bars. I made a stupid mistake around 1:25 mark when I q'd heroic strike at to low rage and ended up delaying my rotation but you can clearly see how I use rend

    BT>WW>Free>BT>FREE/rend>FREE

"Free" are used for Slams or rend

I nearly always rend in that 2nd free spot so that I have 1 full gcd after changing stances to normally have a white hit land and assure I don't rage starve myself for the next rotation (I get 42 rage on avarage from each offhand hit)

This is your button press order and this is happening after the 2nd BT in your rotation.

    GCD|---------------|---------------|---------------|---------------| >>> continues
    ---BT--------(1)---Rend----(3)---------------------BT--------------WW

    (1) - Change to battle stance
    (3) - Change to berserker stance

Changing stances will cause a Golbal cool down but you can change stances during a GCD without triggering another one.

    Some numbers - http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/r...?s=2573&e=2761
Rend done 1.3% of 15400~ which is around 200dps gained from using rend.

Thank you so much for the video and the advice about when to Rend Devlin
I did like you suggested and rend after the second bt. It really does
fit in quite well. I really appreciate the help
Also id love to know what addon that you've got that's
giving all those little numbers in the corners of the buttons and turning
them green. I see it particularly on your BT and Slam buttons.

my UI is a Ui called

TukUI Hydra edit.. get it from tukui.org

its a few addons that are doing that

ButtonFacade (addon to reskin the action bar buttons)
ButtonFacade_Caith (the skin I am using)
InlineAura (addon that makes the green/red/blue glow on action bar buttons when they are debuffed etc)
OmniCC (addon that adds the numeric counter onto each actionbar button you can config it to show 1s or 0.1s etc)

I have used those 4 addons for ages, before I even started using that new UI and I love them. Having the green aura means I know instantly when its procced and having 6 or 9s on the button means I know instantly if its a normal slam or the 2x 1sGCD slams. Great little set up.
