Prot build?

Hey guys, I built a prot build based on AoE dmg and threat. My warrior is my 8th 80 and about 5th on my priority so I am by no means a pro war tank. But lemme know what you think, is this viable?
Any comments/suggetions are more than welcome!

I picked up the Imp Rend and Deep wounds to go with Blood and Thunder and crits on TC, the point in War Academy was only to get 5 points in to get to the second tier.

Hold the line isnt very useful for aoe tanking.
I would take armored to the teeth instead for more AP which means higher shockwave dmg etc.

Hold The Line is better while AoE-tanking than while tanking a single target...

Seconding this. The more mobs you have on you the more parries will occur. More parries more Hold the Line procs more crit chance more crit thunderclaps more threat

@OP: I would take the 2 points in "Sweep and Clear" out because with Shield spec and Shield Block you will not have a rage problem during AoE

2 points in Impale instead would help your threat more than 2 in "Sweep and Clear". Cool sounding name though XD

Thanks for the help! Thats what I was wondering about sweep and clear, but at the same time since glyphed Sunder atm hits 2 targets (which will probably change like they said last night) and imp revenge hits 2, and TC and Blood and Thunder, just sounded like I will always be hitting multiple targets with almost all my specials so the free rage was...meh?

@Deathwhisper: how do you get links to post into words instead of the actual address...completely OT but I was wanting to put that in my sig for all my classes. Thanks in advance.

well thats what you would go if you had not stated that this was an AoE spec

Shield slam hits 1 target therefore single target build and you said AoE so you focus on the aoe assistance talents

Oh, ok...Yeah I said AoE, but I think what I really meant was a tank spec that was capable of high threat in AoE situations. If you have one that would be better suited for a MT spec that was a high aoe threat build I would love to see it. Again, not my main character and I quit my warrior at the end of season 5 as arms, I have two other toons that I tank with so I am just throwing talents around.

With the new trees right now, there isnt very many variables. You cant really have all the aoe tanking things with all the MTing things since there is like 2 ways to spend points. As of right now it looks like you either try for both of those things and be weaker than a solidly spent talent tree, just dual spec prot and make two builds or make a build for exactly what youre going to do (5 mans or raids).

I was dual spec prot this whole expansion and just now offspecced fury. Now I actually have a good reason to go back to DS prot since we have so little points to spend.

I wouldnt really get too attached to these talent trees anyways, there is bound to be some changes, some of them even drastically altering your plans and specific builds.

sweep and clear can be moved into shield mastery, but i chose sweep and clear for more cleaves (since they will now cost a maximum of 30 rage)

also, toss vig on another tank (it no longer transfers threat) so you can stack vengeance faster
