Deathforged vs Pillars of Might Legs

Right now I have the Deathforged legplates that drop http://www.wowhead.com/item=50808#comments

I almost have enough Primordial Saronite and Titan Steel Bars for the Pillars of might. http://www.wowhead.com/item=49973

However, the more I look at Pillars of Might compared to the Deathforged the less they seem worth the high cost of all that Primordial Saronite. I've leveled up my Tank alt with drops from ICC and VOA more quickly than I have accumulated badges so I only have one piece of tier gear. What are you guys thoughts?

Craft those shiny new legs. Extra armor is something you should gobble up any chance you get to.

Are they significantly better than your current legs? No doubt.

Pillars of Might are BiS, assuming you're over defense cap.

In tanking ICC hardmodes, almost every fight benefits from stacking effective health as much as possible, so it's a priority to equip every possible bonus armor piece. The only possible exceptions I can think of are heroic Sindragosa, where it might make some sense to equip Tier pants to get your expertise up (since Sindragosa can parry haste), and heroic Saurfang because being a fast hitter and with the Mark mechanics, avoidance becomes very effective.

I don't understand why so many people craft the Boots of kingly upheaval which are not better than the Coloseum10HM boots (you gain 9 stam something like this .. very interesting for a 10k gold craft .. ) and don't take the Pillars

Not everyone has access to those boots, I don't stand much chance of getting a boots better than the 232s from FoS hc, so the craftable ones are a much better choice than a legs which have an equivalent peice from the first boss in ICC. Also, its much less than 10k, maybe 5k at most.
