Well he could drop his wallet instead of being killed. Perhaps raiding in Cataclysm will be so easy that the Deathwing encounter requires only that you bring a Rogue to pickpocket him. However, if you fail to bring a Rogue and initiate combat or the Rogue is detected while stealthed Deathwing despawns for the remainder of the week.

IMO he gets sucked into the Maelstrom at the end of his fight and we loot his Armoire (I had to Google this word because Firefox kept telling me I was spelling it wrong. Dumb Firefox and not knowing french furniture names.) of Evil items.

I'm hoping they do something like the Sleeper in Everquest. You don't fight Deathwing because you don't want to, and if a raid does manage to overcome the stupidly hard battles to face him, he just goes wild, lays waste, then disappears and can never be engaged again.
