Lightning Bolt reduced cast time gone?

I found myself looking over the Cataclysm data and specs for my shaman when I came to a somewhat disturbing realization.

The talent that brings the cast time of lightning bolt from 2.5 to 2.0 seconds is gone and the baseline remains 2.5 seconds.

I'm trying to work out if this is intentional, an oversight, or an attempt to prevent high-haste shaman from reaching a soft haste cap, anyone else notice this, or have thoughts on the matter?

Most likely another small way blizzard is trying to reduce burst for cataclysm.

maybe they just reduced the cast time on LB as a base mechanic. and if it no, its still beta things are more then likely going to change

when you specc into elemental you will get it through specialisation bonuses you will also get 100% crit damage etc

The cast time reduction will probably be a passive benefit for Shamans who choose the Elemental specialisation.

love how every keeps on the "its a beta its going to change" after GC already said that rogues and shamans are pretty much done

You wouldn't want them to give it a base cast time of 2 seconds; it would mean a lower damage coefficient and even worse scaling.

Anyway, it's part of Eye of the Storm now, which is one of the bonuses for elemental specialization.

I did my ele spec today. When you spec into ele, you gain eye of the storm, reducing the cast time by 0.5 seconds.


You still get it, but you don't spec into it.
