I have to say, the biggest pet peeve about warcraft graphics for me is the way they make trees.
And yes, Allods was gorgeous. Too bad they sold out.

WoW's graphics were pretty low-end back in 2004. The elements that remain from that period (mostly the character models) were among the worst parts. Six years later, they're only getting worse. This is why most will go roll Worgen or goblin. Just to get updated character models that don't look like they're playing an Xbox game with a game whose technical requirements continue to grow more and more out of hand.
It is using a 6 year old graphics engine, so I would guess in the face of other games today.
