Had someone try to change my password once, that is about it.
Got an authenticator on my phone so i could get the pet.

The sites and scams that are out there designed to get your account info range from obviously a scam to extremely clever.
You don't have to be particularly stupid, foolish, or ignorant to make a one-time mistake and compromise your account information.
Some of these sites are extremely sophisticated and sneaky, the designers knew that many people would be wary.
Anyone, and I mean ANYONE can potentially lose their account even with an Authenticator.
Blizz sells the devices BELOW COST to help their customers maintain security.
Even so, they can only do so much. They can't keep every user from ever doing anything that might risk their account info, so it's ridiculous to demand that they give you more account protection as "baseline" than they already do.
If u let anyone use your account info ? is this a joke ?
Stupid people get hacked . Downloading addons from curse from some suspicious guy
is your fault
My friend got "hacked" over 10 times because he is opening emails from unknown people , clicking shiny adds , watching porn from unknown/not trusty sites etc etc
There is no safe from keyloggers , heck there even is virus designed as anti authenticator (first time u enter password u get error while he sends those info to hacker etc etc )
Stop reporting to public forums that you don't have proper security. Is the reports of that poll public? In other words does it provide hackers with a list of victims?
I never been hacked before. I played without an authenticator for a long time, and I've been playing since early 2005. (I can't remember when authenticator were made available actually).
But I got my authenticator during WOTLK not really for security originally, but because I got an iphone and the app was free, also I got a core hound puppy. I'm glad I have an authenticator and can't see the need to bash something that is only meant to give you extra security, and is some cases like mine can be attained for free.
We need to make a signature of this club. I realy wanna join.
Btw, if you're a noob, you're gonna get hacked all right. Authenticator or not, do anything of the above quoted by the OP and you've got yourself a nice vacation off the game till mother blizzard decided to help you, if she wants to that is.
Been playing since vanilia. Never had a problem with my account. Only gotten a 3 hour ban as a retard reported me because he mixed my name with a scammer's.
I've been hacked once in TBC, and I've played since vanilla. I have an authenticator now, even though I use Firefox with NoScript and AdBlock (don't know if that will ever help me against viruses though, but it's pretty neat :P), and I scan every day with an antivirus program, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Spybot. I don't even get scammails from "Blizzard" and I certainly don't use my email address + WoW password anywhere else than WoW. I think I may be paranoid.
Maybe it's because it took Blizzard two whole weeks to give me my gear back that makes me so paranoid?
Oh and btw, when I were hacked I had not bought any gold, not had I given my password to someone else and I didn't go on any shady sites either, so don't be too sure that your phat lewtz is safe. It can happen out of the blue.

Yes, people do it. Friend asks to log in for a minute to craft something, ect. Or even if you log into your own account from their computer for a second to check something. It doesn't make a difference. It's not smart, but it still happens, and doesn't involve you clicking anything.
You originally said "How can someone get hacked if they don't click a link?", I am just answering your question.
...erm...what? I honestly am not sure what you mean here. Curse is one of the largest websites for World of Warcraft addons. They also recently bought out this website, so you are on a "suspicious" website right now if you consider Curse to be "some suspicious guy".Stupid people get hacked . Yes, you have heard of the Man-In-The-Middle programs. There have been what, five people with Authenticators who have gotten hacked because of them? So 5 people with Authenticators....versus every single other account that has ever gotten hacked, which didn't have one. There are lots of reasons not to want to use an Authenticator, but the fact that it is "only" 99% effective instead of 100% is the stupidest I have seen.My friend got "hacked" over 10 times because he is opening emails from unknown people , clicking shiny adds , watching porn from unknown/not trusty sites etc etc

"I don't want to get my girlfriend pergnant. I should use some sort of birth control. Wait, condoms are only 97% effective!? That's almost completely useless, I'd better just pull out, I'm smart enough to know when, right?"
