Theory on the new Bolvar loading screen

I have always wondered myself...Before Bolvar became the Lich King, Arthas has been torturing him.. what if Arthas managed to bring Bolvar to his will and PROBABLY is one with Arthas' spirit now? Just like Ner'zul/Arthas.

copied directly from wowwiki, he has never had paladin abilities in game and ive never seen any lore naming him as one.

Edit: Ok so i saw the thing on the side that says hes a paladin and the stuff they link is the damn cardgame and a random one line mention in a quest event. Looks like hes somehow been retconned. /sigh seriously if its one thing the alliance doesn't need more of its paladin lore characters.

To be fair, when it says "warrior of the Alliance", that doesn't really seal up the fact that his class in the game is potentially warrior (though you're correct, he didn't use paladin abilities as an attackable NPC). Warrior is a fairly broad term, and any Alliance soldier (including mages, priests, hunters and yes, paladins) could be considered warriors of the Alliance.

Tirion didn't become the new Lich King -- Bolvar is the new Lich King. Arthas is no longer a part of the picture.

He's also refered to as a Paladin by Saurfang/Muradin in the beginning of ICC when they find out he's still alive.

Fun Fact: Old school Bolvar had a mana bar and retribution aura.

Thats true and my edit mentioned i checked their material but what bothers me is he never seemed like a paladin pre wrath he didnt have paladin abilities and far as i can tell before wrath and the cardgame there was nothing naming him as such. He was like a new lothar "Uncle Bolvar wants YOU!" It just seems off to me that they would suddenly change him.

Be interesting to see what they do with him when they come back to it, although given how Blizzard likes their fallen heroes, it is likely it won't be good news for ole Bolvar.

I hope a few of you will remember a blue post WAY back when (which is why I couldn't find it...) stating that they still wanted to tell Nerzul's story, and how oddly Nerzul was missing from the entirity of WotLK. Yes, in the novels he was 'killed/banished' by Arthas, giving him the dominate personality. I do not doubt that his spirit persists within the Helmet and that he began tampering with Bolvar the minute he had the Helm placed on him. I doubt we'll see a Lich King 2.0 expac, but Nerzul/Bolvar will be a major plot point in the future, that I can guarantee.

Q. Will Ner'zhul appear at any point in 3.3 or the near future?
A. Well, he is a chunk of the Lich King now. But if you mean will he appear as an orc, we're not ready to tell his story just yet. We have a lot of stories left to tell, but his is a good one.

Bolvar is the new Lich King, that's it. There's nothing more to it.

Also wouldn't you be distressed if you had to become the Lich King?
