    The "Worst case scenario" I believe would be for this rotation change they are claiming would be to simply have to recast lightning shield every so often. But I doubt that would be it, so we can only hope, but as they said let's not get too excited and wait to see what they actually do. And along the lines of earthquake they must have made a significant change because they must realize how lame it seems now. Even if it's just for aoe it is still a new spell and our old final talent point is now just an innate ability so it's still a gain - once they fix it.

    Don't be tempted to read too much into the wording; sometimes paraphrasing just throws out stuff that is not actually happening.
    It would be nice if the Ele rotation did get a bit of a change to be slightly more intuitive and less boring, however, it looks like it'll be extrememly minor changes, imo.

    Also, earthquake not having a cast bar? What, do you just want to walk all over content without any resistance?
    We'll have Spiritwalker's Grace to walk while casting now, are you not happy enough with that? :|

    I have a feeling that the new Earthquake may work like Fire Nova in that it radiates from Earth totems.

    If that's the case, then Blizz needs to make a new end talent for Elemental.

    No, one of the first questions GC answered was about when we would not have to run up to do aoe, and he responded with "Earthquake?" So I'm pretty sure their intention for EQ is for it to be a ranged aoe. And having to run up and drop a totem in a pile o' mobs just to do aoe would kind of defeat that.

    This is a sick idea. I was thinking something along the lines of an ability to place lightning shield on your target, and that while it was on that target (say, lasting for 10-12 seconds?) every lightning bolt/chain lightning (not overload procs) had a chance to stun. That way you'd have to cast the shield on yourself for one, then place it on your target (maybe only available after a LB/CL crit?), and go nuts with LB's to get a stun. Just my thoughts!

    Make Earthquake a set it and forget it spell, lose the channel.

    Also the Lightning Orb stun effect would be nice. We've waited 6 years for a useful PvP ability or defensive CD.

    we HAD a stun... for a very short period of time, then blizz decided to take it away... why? i have no idea... it wasnt even OP at all... i think it was even shorter than shadowfury, if not the same time... sigh... i miss it =( and that stun idea would be sick

    Well, from what I have seen, the Lightning Shield stun sounds WAY more beneficial for enhancement. Remember, its supposed to be useful for Ele, not completely overpowered. They wouldn't give us a stun, and plus, that spell throws out more damage than they would let a shield have.

    Most likely they will make it similar to the Mage's Molten Armor, since they tent to not be able to tell the difference between and Ele Sham and mage lol.

    As long as it allows shaman to scale and stay competitive I am all for it. Guessing part of it to is so that they can scale nature damage off of the shield for both shaman dps specs(IE the mastery for enhance being +nature dmg might be a big thing for enhances static).

    But they said it will alter the rotation, so it will at least be shittily similar to static shock so we will have to recast lightning shield often enough to actually "alter the rotation"

    If you are talking about my idea I fail to see how it is better for enhancement. It requires you to cast lightning bolt. Each time you cast LB there is a 20% chance for your lightning orb spell to be useable. You have 10 seconds to use it, and when you use it the 20 seconds cooldown starts. When lightning orb is on cd, you cannot gain the "lightning orb is now useable" buff, so you cannot cast lightning orb as soon as the 20 secs cd ends, which means you got to proc it after the cd ends, so that's a proc to manage, instead of only watching the cooldown. In pvp it won't be overpowered neither since you got to cast LB to be able to trigger the lightning orb, so if you can't get to cast your LB (aka. a rogue is sitting on you), you won't just be able to stun him every 20 secs.

    Whatever the change is, it will be forcing us to give up on a mana regeneration shield for a damage one. While Elemental never had ANY mana issues in Wrath AT ALL, Blizz has been drilling into us that mana will be an issue in Cataclysm, and I wonder if this will end up not being worthwhile.

    =D I like to bind my main spell to 3 for some reason, LB on shaman, steady shot on hunter, etc. I bind my spells weird though, I have FS on f1 and LvB on f3. I think it comes from PVPing and having things like purge and interrupts bound to easier to hit keys.. I dunno, I'm weird.
