I am currently gearing up a lvl 80 ret pala, and currently im a bit confused with the gearing. As I want to get my pala into raiding asap, i am considering getting some gear crafted. I have enough gold for the cost to not currently bother me, even if the gear will no longer be worth it in 3 months time.
The pieces I am considering are: Leggings of Painful death, Hellfrozen Bonegrinders.
I have also been doing some research and some sites are saying that for a ret the leather 264 crafted boots Treads of impending death are better due to their huge about of exp.
I've read that thread prior to making this thread, however, it does not answer my particular enquiry, being whether it is worth getting the crafted gear, or basically just waiting and hoping for good gear from hcs to get this alt to icc fast.
Plate boots and pants are a nice upgrade to any newly dinged ret pala due to its amount of str and crit, but yes, in some cases leather versions provide more dps.
Personally i'd craft plate boots in a heartbeat. 1st reason is cata being around the corner where plate will give you nice bonus, 2nd you wont upgrade 264 pieces that soon.
For pants i'd first check my exp stats, if u get way under cap, stick with t9 and w8 to get few emblems for t10 ones, but if u can somehow keep exp cap with those crafted boots, they are, in my eyes, worth crafting
