Using item return function to bypass gold cap

So my friend is finally coming back to wow and is transfering and racing changing his character to play with me, the thing is that 20k gold cap on chars server transfering and I was woundering if anyone knows if you could buy like the travler's tundra mammoth on your first server and once you transfered and race changed, could sell it back or if the timer gets removed when you transfer?

    anyone have any idea?

Well, since things like mailbox contents and quest progress doesn't get saved, I would imagine the refund timer doesn't either. You could always buy a bunch of expensive items from the AH and sell them on the new server for a similar effect, albeit a bit risky.

It's an oversight ? How so ? They accidentally did this so you couldn't exploit their own mechanism ?
    Sounds logical.

    Damn...
Come on, man. No item that I know of(that is purchased by gold) does the full value sell back.

Sorry. I was too late to save your G.

And honestly, don't hate on him for trying it. People do the same thing when they transfer with 5000 Primo Saronites or 4 bags of motorcycles.
