    Feral tank ring choice

As a bear tank, what rings and necklaces should i be using? strength ones with def rating and dodge on them. or the agiility ones, normally with AP on them

  2. #2
    armor/str/def/dodge

  3. #3
The ones with tank stats, i.e. Strength/Def/Dodge.

While "tanking" rings are generally preferred, there's nothing wrong with using DPS rings. In fact, some DPS rings provide better tanking stats than some standard rings that are used strictly for tanking (as long as they're agility DPS rings, the strength ones don't provide enough tanking stats other than threat).

“It's not an endlessly expanding list of rights — the 'right' to education, the 'right' to health care, the 'right' to food and housing. That's not freedom, that's dependency. Those aren't rights, those are the rations of slavery — hay and a barn for human cattle.”

This will mainly be true when upgrading over different item levels. An extreme example would be Seal of Many Mouths to replace your old Ulduar Platinum Band of the Aesir.

Gemmed with a Solid blue stamina gem the 264 is better in every way. Better avoidance, better threat, better stamina. Absolutely no downsides.

That being said, the Devium's Eternally Cold Ring trumps them both as a pure tanking ring. It loses on threat, but that shouldn't be a surprise. DPS > Tank rings for threat almost without exception.

If you can find a good "agility" ring that has a socket and you are comparing against a "strength tanking" ring that doesn't have a socket, it could be better. The avoidance is often equal or sometimes even better on a high agility ring, but the biggest loss is stamina. However if it has a socket, you can stick a stam gem in there and it'll have almost as much stam as a tanking ring. What you are losing out on by having the socket instead of the equivalent in a stat is probably something like attack power, so bears love sockets!

If you actually have two for comparison, swap them and see what happens to your dodge, armor, crit, AP, and HP. If the "tank" ring doesn't have bonus armor, you'll definitely see a drop in armor over the agi ring.
