Some people call it spam, but usually spam is ignored by people.
I would say that in the warcraft forum universe thread topics such as, "Rate the ____ above you!", and "____ appreciation day!", even "Hug a ____ day!" are all equivalent to "Slowpoke" combos, "You laugh you loose" threads, and "Guys/Girls, post pics. Guys/girls, rate them." threads.

I'm not going to use the crude term "cancer", because I can assure that these kinds of threads don't pop up nearly enough to be considered an infection that's killing mmo-champion. However, most of the time they are just threads that you post in to get your post count up, and they are VERY EASY topics to follow when people are bored of posting in more... "intelligible"... threads.

I believe this is a good move for the mods to make, and I'm sure it will clean up this site quite a bit.

Appreciation thread appreciation threads are a great new idea. Why? Because its a place where you can go to talk about your favorite parts of appreciation threads, and talk about the news on them, and concepts for one. ^^
