well i saw the post a week or so back about the achieve to cut 10k gems as a guild so i started packing in gems. im at about 5k now and they add this, is it the 'new' achieve or is it an additional one?

I'm sure just like the "craft epic items" this achievement will get an item level requirement so that only cataclysm gems count towards it. I wouldn't count to much on saving gems to cut them in cataclysm for this achievement.
