btw for you curious people the updater says playable at 7,2 GB (and total download 15gb) and im downloading with 2.7 mb per sec atm
this downloader completely looks like cataclysm... even says beta build ect but i guess thats the only difference :P

The Cataclysm changes to land are not on the PTR. All you pretty much do is test the new interface, talents, etc.
The PTR download was pretty quick though... about 2.3mb/s.

The 1-60 content isn't in the PTR, basically it's just UI and Talents/Specs that are being tested with some other basic stuff. No Flying in Azeroth either :/

The client is 16mb because it downloads the entire 4.0.1 PTR client using the new streaming launcher. The PTR client is actually smaller than the live client.
It does not include the new quests, the new class/race combos, the new races, the new zones, the revamped versions of zones, the new professions, or anything of that nature.
It does include new class mechanics, UI features, and some other things which will be implemented before the launch.
Allegedly, the "Cataclysm launch patch" will be 4.0.3.

Just tanked a random on the PTR with my own char copied over (not a premade). Never again. I really hope that dungeons become deadly for dps when they pull agro. I was busy half the time spamming taunt on mobs that were running all over the place. I feel like I have nearly no agro at all. Thunder clap hits for 300. I had a shield slam hit for 500...

Looks like you can't make a Premade toon at this stage. You can only copy over one of your toons from live.
So you will have to wait a day while it copies it over.

Man that's a hefty sized Patch. Well this is gonna be one of those "Let it download over night deals" for me. I don't have the energy to stay up any longer just to log into the PTR and then go right to sleep.
But yay! I get to get a taste of what the new hunter resource feels like.
