    Which PTR server are you on and what name are you going by? I would like to log in and watch. Maybe I can see what I'm doing wrong because currently, SPriest, All Rogues, and Ele Shammies are creaming me. The only duels I win are against other Ret Paladins.

    One of the biggest problems right off the bat that we're all going to run into to is the fact that we need to get used to the new mechanics. That said though, one drawback is our lack of sacred shield. If you ask me, WoG needs to be retuned to compensate that(which blizzard hasn't done yet). LAoL is pretty nice but there's way too many factors that negate it to nothing really.

    I definitely agree with what a lot of the other posters had said previously on the beta build thread. Zealotry definitely needs to come off of the holy power source. Can't really say much about our mastery since its proc rate is REALLY sporadic if not non-existent in some fights( i know, we're only at 80). But when it does proc it's pretty damn nice.
    You can still cleanse, but its one poison, and one disease, no magic, and its cost is high. The dp coming off of forbearance was a nice surprise, considering we might need it to survive along with divine shield.

    Tv....it seems very much like a casino hit. One point i'll hit for 10k, and another, a measily 7-800dmg. Btw i got those numbers off of lvl 80 mobs, and not off a dummy....they're overcrowded right now, and got sick of listening to the idiotic heavily repeat questions and rant in the trade chat on ptrs. so i left the cities to try on mobs.

    tl;dr: There's plenty of work needed, we're not in best place yet. Lets wait and see.

    As was said above & in many other threads, ret has become more about dumb luck or RNG procs then about skill. If they change our holy power generation to be more fluid & consistent we would be in a better place for pvp & pve. This could be done by changing sanctity of battle to effect the Cd of judgment instead & by allowing it to cause judgment to generate holy power. After that they could just lower the base Cd on crusader strike to 3 seconds.

    This ^ also would help with another problem we have, many of the randomly generated holy power charges we create are wasted as they come when we already have 3 charges. This could easily be fixed by allowing us to build up & store more holy power then we can consume with a single ability. (4 or 5 with a maximum of 3 consumed at a time would be good)

    As for our new mastery, it is nice when we can have a standstill fight but that rarely ever happens in pvp or pve. If they allowed it to work off of all attacks it would be much better.

    Now our continued extreme vulnerability to kiting makes most of us worry because when combined with all ranged classes getting more ways to kite it ends up with us having no chance of even getting into melee unless our opponent is brain dead. I have heard many suggestions for how they could fix this ranging from making hand of freedom immune to dispel when used on self to having hand of freedom provide our run speed buff when cast on self & changing LOTL to a ranged daze, I have also heard of one idea where they could cause hand of freedom to send all snare effects back onto their casters when we cast hand of freedom on our self.

    There is also the problem of self healing & survivability because while they nerfed ours allot to give us a small amount of offensive utility they just gave tons of survivability & self healing to warriors & rouges without taking any offensive utility. This has lead to them being able to self heal better then us while providing better offensive utility. I think they could fix this by changing word of glory to have some attack power coefficient so that it has more effect for us at base lvl, they could also change selfless healer to effect us as well. Or they could make our holy power generation more fluid & consistent so we can cast it more often.


    Last but not least is our 31pt talent zealotry, at the moment it is a very awkward ability. This could be changed if it made all abilities that consume holy power act as if you had 3 for the next X seconds with no holy power requirement for use.

    Ghostcrawler says that he doesn't care about numbers currently, but he nerfed seal damage for 50% :S. I can't provide pvp mechanism feedback when I get one-shotted by hunters.

    pvped a little on my live hunter. in about icc25 gear some heroic pieces. just set my pet to aggresive at the gy and by the time i got within fire range kill command had 1 shotted the people =/ so hunters=op pvp atm if ur bm

    in before numbers on ptr get complained about and 1st blue reply is .. it's on ptr not on live don't worry about it. then when it goes live because everyone isn't worrying about it .. next blue responce: we don't balance numbers based on level 80 but on max level .. don't worry it will sort out once you hit 85 and gear up.. then everyone will cry again and blue will post wait on future balance pass.

    2 years later they'll adress it in the next expansion.

    Aye, I agree it's ptr. I just can't see how fixing numbers would make paladins less kiteable. Or maybe I have missed something. I mean paladin's would get hardest hitting ability in the game, but is it going to help much if they can't get close enough to actually use it ?

    i think Making Freedoom undispalable and reducing it Cooldown by 5s would help alot.

    and i do love the new rotation we have more to click and it require more skill to actually master it.
    and remember it still a PTR everything can change tommorow.

    and if your QQing about getting 1shot divine protection reduce the dmg taken by 20% 1minutes cooldown give no forbearance that pretty awesome to.

    undispelable freedom maybe 5sec off the cd probably not as that would give only a 5sec down time may as well make you immune to snares at all times lol. Divine protection has the same problem as freedom sec its up its gone.

    So Far I have found this in my limited toying with ret on the ptr(mainly working with holy):

    Judgments: Hit like a we noodle, criting for about 4k with me

    CS: Its ok, only hitting for about 5k. It could tuned to go a bit higher, not bad for an instant that serves to generate holy power.

    TV: Hits rather hard for an instant, but only at 3 holy power. Under that is is garbage.

    DS: its an aoe now so W/E

    Holy power for ret(and holy): It is too unreliable, too rng. It is hard to stack when you want and bursty at best if the "40 percent chance"(my ass I only get it on CS). I like balancing a new system but It needs some major tweaking if it is going to flow at all.

    Selfless healer: I love the concept, when holy power become reliable I will be making a tank focus macro for it. It is a unique mechanic that makes my word of glory at 3 stacks hi someone else for more than I can hit as holy with it.

    Word of glory: In general, it needs some more kick to it. As holy I would rather wait the 30 second CD of light of dawn(as under tuned as it is) rather than dump my HPP on WoG.

    Thats my insight so far sorry if I stayed holy at the end, look for a full rant on Light of dawn in the omming days :P
