    Blue Screen

So I downloaded the cataclysm ptr. Everything runs fine until I log int othe game, I log in and the world around me is there but my character is not, then after about 2 seconds my computer freezes and then it crashes my computer. Is there any way to fix this?

Seriously: make sure other cpu consuming programs are disabled, make sure your antivirus isn't doing a scan, it can always be that your game settings are too high to be handled by your pc.

Have you fully installed the ptr? maybe could be something with that.

Or ya could try to recopy your character. Maybe create a level 1 and log in and see if that character shows up. If not it's probably something with the PTR

Sounds like invalid memory. Post specs.

    What operating system is that?
How many processes at boot up?
Run msconfig, whats your boot config? (first page)
Are all your drivers working? Right click my computer and click on 'manage.' Click device manager and report any yellow exclamation points and red 'x's.

I would take a look at the Windows Event Viewer to see if it's tracking any exceptions being caught by the client.
