    Getting to Vashj'ir

    Hey guys.
Been looking online for a long time now. How do you get to Vashj'ir? I do not have a beta invite, so like many of you I have not experienced the upcoming changes of Cataclysm.
Anyone know how we get to Vashj'ir?
I have seen pictures of Gnome and Goblin submarines. If they are the transport we take, where do you board?

    Thanks.

Depending on whether you play horde or alliance there's a boat going from Orgrimmar/stormwind's harbor every now and then. Board it, watch a scripted event and then you're there.

This. Although you can only do that event once for obvious reasons... After that you'll have to use a wind rider (the FP is pretty late in the zone though) or fly manually.

The SW/Org stone circles have portals to the place but don't think they work right now. Like the rest of them, you'll probably need to do the "attunement" quest before you can use the portal though.

with quest chains i think you get a portal to there from Stormwind and actually you can even fly there from SW on your flying mount if you are bothered with it...

I think after you go through the scripted event once, you can get there quicker by using the portals in SW and Org. (I don't know if they exist in other Capitals.)

The portals in Org don't work. Before you leave you should have swam to the top and gotten the FP from the Islands there... Also You can Fly there from Silverpine Forrest or Dun Morogh (however it is spelled) with 280% you will BARELY beat the fatigue timer. 310% you will be safe.

I got the FP's to Vash without ever going to the surface, so not sure how I've gotten them. They might be linked to specific swimpaths or just given randomly, since they're not a big deal.

So there are flight paths to the zone from EK? Do you fly to islands above Vashj or do you fly down into the ocean?

You can fly to one boat and one island, with a swimpath right next to the flightmasters.

Alliance/Horde ships come as reinforcements later in the zone, you fly to those instead. But even without a FP you can easily get to Vashj'ir by flying from the closest place to it in EK to there. The fatigue bar doesn't even run out on my 310% mount.

    What if you don't have 280%? :P

You can make it past the fatigue. I've done it. Just barely though.

While the question has been answered already, I thought I'd clarify a bit about the new zones in general.

Every major city will have a Heroes Board (or something like that, server down so can't check name) added. It will give a quest leading you to each zone, one way or the other. These quests only show up when you have reached the level required for the zones, just like normal quests. They all have a scripted event to lead you straight to the "start" of the zone, so pay attention to what's happening - it's a one time only (not counting alts, ofc).

For Vashj'ir, there is the boat as described above. It's quite nice and you can look forward to your free 450% swimspeed seahorse! Just don't jump off too soon, as I did, or you will have a fun time going back to the mainland if you cannot HS/teleport away.
For Mount Hyjal, you can take a portal to Moonglade. From there you jump on a drake, it'll port you both to Hyjal where you will meet some old friends and you can then start questing.
Deepholm is a bit different. You go to see Thrall at the Maelstrom and then you are flown down into it. That's, as far as I have discovered, the only time you need to use the Maelstrom for anything while leveling. I've seen a lot of people in Beta ask about Maelstrom when they really meant Deepholm. I can understand the confusion, but they really are two different places...
Uldum starts in Tanaris, where you will escort a caravan into the zone. On a camel. There's a couple of cutscenes using the ingame engine right at the beginning of this zone. Pretty nice!
Twilight Highlands: Just arrived in Uldum, so don't know yet.

If you chose to leave any of these zones, there is, at least on Beta and we can only assume it will stay through Live, a portal to each zone from SW/Org. For me, only Deepholm works, but that's also the only zone I cannot simply fly to. There is a Tol Barad portal too, but I am not 85 yet, so it doesn't allow me to use it.

I was a second or two away from the end of my fatigue bar.

Most of the portals do not work as far as I know.
Only Deepholme and Twilight Highlands do. Deepholme works by just walking through portal in the Temple of Earth. Twilight Highlands needs to be activated by taking over the first settlement and doing 2-4 quests there afterwards. Thats from a horde pov. Dunno if alliance fares better.

If you have the flightpath in Vashj'ir you can at least fly there from UC, dunno if Stonard works too though.
You are welcome, Metzen. I hope you won't fuck up my underground expansion idea.
