EU login server down?
Checking. Hold for confirmation.
Edit:
Nope - Everything seems in order.
Are you using Avast? If so, check the tech forums for a solution.
After a recent update, users of Avast anti-virus software may be experiencing problems logging in. This is caused by a false positive which is flagging StarCraft II and World of Warcraft cache files as malicious.
To log in before another update, you will need to add these game files as exceptions in your anti-virus software.
- Open Avast5 (double-click the program icon in the system tray)
- Open the real-time protection
- Open the advanced settings
- Press Browse, locate your game folder and add WoW.exe to the list of exceptions
Additionally you will need to repeat the process for the game's cache folder. The default paths are as follows:
Windows Vista and 7 - C:\ProgramData\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\Cache\
Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\Cache\
This workaround should allow you to log back into the game.
Why is that suddenly a problem?
It's all in the official tech forums, Avast blocks WoW with the new update, thinking it is a virus.
