Question Trying to find this turn-based space strategy game

    Hi all!

I am trying to find the name of a turn-based space strategy game published somewhere around 1995-2002, maybe someone in here can help me.

The game is very simple, you have a couple of ships, the AI has a couple of ships, and you battle each other turn-based by shooting different missiles.
What I remember exactly, is how it looked like (yeah, I suck at paint):

Basically you could move the yellow arrows you see in front of the ships every turn in order to change direction or to fly faster or slower.
What I also remember, is that there are many different ships to choose from and you are even able to build your own ships or edit existing ones.

Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thank you!

-I don't care what the next expansion is about, as long as the story is dark and rich so I can refer to it as Chocolate WoW.

    Thank you for your reply.
It was a win95 based game, opened in a window (not fullscreen).

Update: Yes! I finally found it. Just if anyone else is interested, there is a demo available to download here: http://www.windowsgames.co.uk/critical.html
