    Email about being banned

I just got an email from WoWAccountAdmin@blizzard.com that my account is going to be closed down and if i don't send my account details to them. They said i've been playing to sell my account which if false, it also said if i ignored the email they would ban me.
Is this a false email? :S ty

    Yes. Yes it is.

As a rule of thumb, if you're not expecting an email from them, it's fake.

Another way to tell is seeing if you can log in to the game, as thier policy is ban first, ask questions later.

    This is true as well.

If they were going to ban you they would do it then request your cd keys or like a scan of your passport or some shit.

As a general rule of thumb, don't expect them to warn you that they're going to close your account for suspicious behavior. They'll close it down and then send an email about it.

What part of "Blizzard will never ask for your account information" is so hard for some to grasp?

Isn't there a stickied thread about email scams?

On-topic: Yes, it's a scam. I get between 1-5 emails like this in my spam box everyday. It's very likely they got your email from a wow related website like this one.

Posting "Blizzard E-mails" is not allowed on these forums.

Just a tip for the future:
Blizzard will NEVER, IN ANY WAY ask for your account details.

They will Ban your account, then send you an e-mail (sometimes not even that), and they expect you to take actions yourself when you find out you are banned (IE: Phone or E-Mail them).

If you ever get a mail that you need to verify your account, then its 100% a scam.

    Good luck.
