Cataclysm Beta too big! :(

Am i the only one who can't download cataclysm beta because it is too big ? i got excited when i got invited and started to download it when i saw it was 32gigs in total!? i dot understand all the patches and testing and the whole game that we have to download. but its so large, i wont be able to play beta anymore because my internet does not support that much

do you think there is any way i could possibly get around this ? put it onto a disk or something and then install it from that ?

any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

32GB? My beta folder is only 23GB.

There's no way around the initial download, anyway, as far as I know.

Although humurous post...i think hes referring to his cap on his internet plan. the same reason i didnt opt into the cata beta, because i knew if i downloaded it i would be a sad panda on a cut internet plan, i only have 15 gigs a month

sorry didn't make it clear i am referring to my internet plan
i hadnt actually checked out the whole total of the cata download but the first part was around 13 gigs and when i read up on other forums i heard that the total after patches etc were added on was around 28-32gigs, it varied for some people (i dont know why)

If that's the case then check and see if any friends have an unlimited plan and have them download it. Then burn that to disk (or keep it on an external drive), bring it home, install from there.

I have unlimited data usage here in America of course, but I am trying to save money right now so I am paying for the lowest tier, which is currently 2Mbps speed. It really sucks that I cannot watch Youtube in HD while playing WoW, and it takes forever to download content patches. But I can't complain to anyone but myself, because it's my choice.

dude. for one i live in New Zealand. and its absolutely shocking the internet we have here, there are unlimited data plans out there, but it costs an arm and a leg to get it. so we are stuck with average as plans until we upgrade to fiber intarwebz.

I tapped into someone's wireless. I just know one of my neighbors are wondering why the hell their internet is so damn slow all the time. If you're on a laptop i would just take it to some place with free wi-fi. May end up spending alot of time there but at least you'll have your cata beta.

i mean its not like i have bad internet. i get 50 gigs a month, but my family also need to use it and if i downloaded it, it wouldnt last the whole month and we would spend half of it with very slow internet :S

Yes, WoW does not actually get "installed" to your machine, it runs completely independent. You can put your entire WoW folder on an external hard drive right now and play it from ANY computer capable, and retain your user settings, mods, etc.
