    i think blizz knew also that in that week i'm on holiday...in another country and no computer available.

    It would probably be more accurate to say "they had a release date planned all along". They just wouldn't publicly commit to it in case they had to push it back.

    People always seem to think that blizzard don't have deadlines or milestones and just plow along and some day say "ok, we're ready to release" but that's not realistic. A project can't be managed that way, and usually if you don't have a deadline people don't get anything done.

    It's pretty obvious it was planned. They were just keeping it secret until they knew they could do it - so as to avoid letting people down with delays.

    Releasing right before Christmas, never a bad business idea I suppose.
