When people say they hate gearscore, what they really mean is they hate the retards who think gearscore is everything. Nothing wrong with the mod as long as you understand its limitations. Sadly, a ton of people don't.

Exactly what I'm talking about. Mod is fine. The people who use it improperly (which is nearly everybody who uses it) are idiots. The mod simply needs to go, because these people will never use it properly.

GS is bad because: 1) nubs rely on it 100% as an indicator of player skill, 2) baddies make pugs with ridiculous requirements so they can get carried.

Your performance is a function of both gear and skill.

Well geared players will usually perform better, there is no reason to assume that they are worse players than people with less gear.

Gearscore is still a bad way of predicting performance because any idiot can get 277 gear, you'd be better off giving someone a quick inspect to see if it's all gemmed properly.

I quit wow come back and GS is all the rage, i know my GS is exceptionally high being all 264+ a legendary when i quit but ill never download the addon i still think its stupid. Why you ask because my mage friend in 251 gear out dps' people in all 264 + Gear < Skill

GS is used by pugs,any good guild master bans the addon.

gearscore goes off of itemLvL which is worthless to measure by seeing as a item LvL200 trinket is still one of the top 10 for many class/specs.
WoWheroes is a far better means of measuring someone's potential.

Are the 4.9k ers who can't possibly perform to the constraints of the 25 HMs.

Then they go cry about how if there was no GS, maybe they'd get carried.


Who agrees that Gs is better than carrying an undergeared scrub!?

4000GS and PVE equip
5000GS and pvp equip


i BET you would take the PVP equipped guy without inspecting him just because he has 5000GS, ALTHOUGH the guy with 4k GS and pve equip would deal a shitload more DPS

And if you used gearscore you'd know that it shows you their gear in a mini armory so if you can't tell the dif between agil and spellpower thats your own fault.
