I have hope in blizzard this time, seeing as they prepared and started the maintenance reaaaaaaly early this time around, it should be out and ready by 1 or 2 pst.

They aren't lying. They give a time they THINK they can work with and then shit happens and it takes longer. It's kinda like my step dad. He's a mechanic, he can tell you that he'll be done work on your car around 10 and only be done way later because of various issues. (Part doesn't fit, there was something else wrong that he hadn't initially picked up on, etc.)

i predict a handful of realms will stay down for a full day or two.

happens every time.

not to mention the emergency downtime we will have to go through because blizzard will need to fix some bug one of the classes has that is causing them to do 100k damage and stuff.

People QQ about this but I'd rather play a game with no bugs than a game full of bugs where I can't get anything done. I'd rather do something else while they fix the problems. So if extended maintenance is required, so be it.

That being said the only time I remember there being any huge amount of extended maintenance was 3.3 and even then, it really wasn't that bad. At all. And it was, what, over a year ago? Fairly sure their technically has been updated a bit since then and it might be finished on time for the next peeps. EU servers had less downtime than US servers for 3.3 and all realms were UP within the day.
