Each to his own, but I think this season, Carol has evolved into one of the most interesting and rounded character on the show. I agree the character was weak in Seasons 1 and 2 but lately she's been given some excellent lines, showing bite and wisdom. I don't see anything Oedipal or uncomfortable in her relationship with Daryl, but that may be because I am the same spritely age as the actress, who in turn is only 4 years older than the actor who plays Daryl.

Being a mother isn't determined by age, thus motherly interactions aren't either. If you can't see how she has been a mother to Daryl who practically replaced her entire messed up family she lost...then I don't think you've been watching the show at all.

i dont see that, i saw them as two people who both lost people they cared about, (her daughter, his brother) and two people who had also been abused (her husband, his father) who connected by having shared experiences.

also am i the only one who really liked the season finally? sure there were a few things wrong with it but i think it set a whole new option for the next season nobody saw coming

Carol on TV is a huuuuge improvement from the comic version. She's changed a lot. Reflecting back on what she went through and what she lost... I'm surprised at how she holds together like she does. She might be the 'motherly' type of the group, but the group needs that in Carol. Her and Daryl have a very unique relationship. I don't view it as sexual at all. I'm just happy to see them as amazing friends to help each other.

She gets Daryl ( most of the time ). He understands her. They help each other mentally through this.

It's a wonderful thing. Softened Daryl for the viewers but at the same time gave Carol a lot more depth than her crazy comic self. ( Google it if you're curious )

I agree. She's a great actress too. With Andrea gone the show needs strong female characters. I'm not really feeling Michonne just yet. She just kinda stands there and broods. I really hope her character picks up. I would have loved to see the graphic novel version of Andrea though. It looked like they were going that way in season 2 but then she went all squirrely.

I say the show also needs a female character that the viewers actually enjoy. Michonne was annoying for the first half of the season until she started showing some expressions and speaking instead of scowling the entire time. Maggie hasn't become a "strong" part of the group yet, she seems more of a person who is just there in most of the stuff they do. Beth is caring for Judith, and Carol is just Carol. Many people didn't like Andrea and we all know how Lori was, so hopefully they can get a strong and likeable character in (unless Michonne steps up to that).

My only problem with Maggie is that as soon as it looks like she's going to have a cool story or do something interesting she's shoved to the sidelines. I guess it's a result of having a large and a singular plotline. If this were a less expensive show on network television there would be more episodes and more development possibly. Then again, they did waste episodes this season with stuff that didn't really need to happen.

That was one thing that I will criticize for this season, the amount of unneeded episodes. I have never seen episode 14, I went from 13 to 15 as I missed 14, and the only thing I missed was Andrea being placed in the torture room. Basically something that wasn't important and you knew was most likely going to happen, since the Governor was looking less keen on her. Rest of the story it was like I didn't miss a thing.

Maggie's fate kinda spooks me. With how they're coming flip-flopping characters who are dead and aren't dead from the comics...

Soooo....anyone else really missing this show already? Really sucks that we wont see any new episodes until October. I just hope I don't forget about the show when season 4 starts. I am really curious to see what Rick and the group do now. If they will stay in the prison, take over woodbury or something else. Also the governor story is all up in the air but I highly doubt it will last for all of season 4. I think the governor and a couple of important characters will die early on in the series then the next storyline will start during the mid-season finale and continue until the end of season 4.

I think they'll keep him as the shows antagonist for a while. There's no sense in building a character like that up and then killing him off.

you know what trope i have a feeling they might play?

that trope where a new badguy comes in and just straight up slaughters the old one in a "you thought he was bad, you aint seen nothin yet" sort of way.

or they might have him be a recurring villain, or they might do something we dont expect

I'm not missing the show at all, I'm still very dissapointed of how the final episodes turned out. There were so many filler episodes, that I was hoping that it would build up for 2 amazing final episodes, like season 2 did. But I was greatly dissapointed how it turned out.

I'm not even sure if I'm gonna bother with season 4. They need to make the zombies a serious threat again, not like the comically background that they were in season 3.

You don't like the zombies that all have invisible cloaks and appear out of nowhere every 2 minutes? We need to do more research into their stealth technology.

I agree zombies need to feel threatening again, everyone's tooled up to the nines with guns and ammo. The only person who failed all season was Angela everyone else walked all over them. Well apart from that guy with the back pack who kept shouting as loud as he could at the car.

I rewatched some of the first season after the finale this one...I had forgotten how intense surviving used to be. Though to be fair, what is playing out in the show is exactly how it would happen in real life. Eventually you become steeled to the fact that the walking dead are everywhere. It becomes a part of life.

I saw six men kicking and punching the mother-in-law. My neighbor said ‘Are you going to help?’ I said, ‘No, Six should be enough.
