Agi vs Haste

As a Survival Hunter I am at a point where I'm not sure which is more important to me.

Agi gives me crit + atp:
I'm at 55% crit and 6k Atp so I'm considering to start regemming to agi/haste or just pure haste. Would love some feedback! ;-)

I've been wondering the same thing actually. After the patch I regemmed all my gear for socket bonuses using agi/hit, agi/haste, and pure agi. Reforged my crit down to about 57% for mastery and dumped all the extra hit off for mastery and haste. In my opinion agility is still the top stat but for survival hunters, haste is a close second.

How about pure agi, you get a 30% increase from talents + mail specialisation so I hardly think theres any question about it unless your socket bonus is really good.

Agi is our top stat and always will be from now on. While it's easy for some of us to get close to 100% crit while fully buffed with trinket procs that's only because we are so massively over geared right now. Some ppl at 85 in Beta have 30% crit or less. For the next 7 weeks or so stack Agi but pick up some Haste in yellow sockects with an Agi/Haste gem and reforge some onto gear that doesn't already have any. All the Crit/Haste pieces you have are what you can use to pick up Mastery.

Haste will cap out for us with 1sec cast time Steady Shots to match the new GCD. After that point don't bother with it since the Focus regen from it isn't enough to justify a Steady Shot cast time shorter then the GCD. I have about 1000 Haste right now which puts my Steady Shot at like 1.25 Sec. I've left it there because my Steady Shot hits just under 1sec with either Focus Fire or BL which works out perfectly.

When the Xpac is released and our Crit starts dropping as we lvl then we are going to want to stack it again along with the Haste and Mastery. However, our gear will also already have some Mastery on it so we shouldn't need to reforge for it so much like we do now, since it's the only way to get it at lvl 80.

It's mostly the 2ap from agi that makes it best now. Haste can have weird effects on special shots, so the value of it can very non-linearly.

I don't know if there is a Blue post on it or not, but go check it out in game, it's down to 1sec instead of the old 1.5sec. It was like that on the PTR too. I didn't believe it eaither when I saw the first post about it weeks ago but I logged in to check and sure enough it's down to 1 second. You can test this easily, if your Steady Shot is below 1.5 sec, cast it and you'll see the GCD finishes before the Steady Shot is cast.

You can spam it really nicely getting close to that 1sec cast time allowing you to recover Focus faster and work in more Focus dumps with either Trap Launcher and Arcane Shot. It makes a nice difference in your DPS. It's not just the extra Steady Shots boosting the numbers, it's the extra Focus dumps.

Most of the people I see complaining about a clunky rotation or not having enough Focus are the same people who are skipping Haste. Yes Haste doesn't affect regen too much but getting in more Steady Shots most certainly does. For Hunters now it's "Use main abilities, spam Steady Shot, Focus dump near 100 Focus, refresh main abilities". More priority based and watching CDs instead of a set rotation. At least while we are stuck at lvl 80, Haste is a good stat for us.
