trying BM, any advice?

I logged onto my hunter with absolutely no knowledge of which spec did the most dps, so I picked BM for the heroism core hound and such.

have a crude spec functioning, i think i went down BM then put the other 5 points in surv.

overall just any advice would be nice:
-is BM so awful that I "have" to respec?
-what's my rotation now? spam arcane shot ftw?
-what buffs are probably most needed in instances that I should put as my ready access pets, and what should be my soloing tenacity pet?

I feel like I just bought an account (which I never have), no idea where to start on how my class works.

I don't really play BM, never been a fan, all I know is that you should make sure you never drop below 40 focus (so you can pop Kill Command as soon as it comes off cooldown).
