Weird "tab" like surface glitch in Dalaran only?

Well, here's the deal. Everytime I go to dalaran, and ONLY dalaran, my UI bugs out (no mods at all, not even recount, addon folder is EMPTY) and these little black strips or "tabs" appear in the game world on the surfaces of things. Screenshots:

And this happens only in Dalaran. Right before it always happens, my FPS goes from about..90 to 2. Then I lag for about 10 seconds, and then bam, these things appear everywhere. A /console reloadui works and clears it, but I'd still like to know what causes this.
And it cannot be my graphics card, I've ran WoW on Ultra settings for years. I can run Crysis on medium settings on this rig. So I know it's not that. Anyone else experiencing this?

It could be your Graphics Drivers, maybe a fault in the game itself too. Have you tried repairing WoW? Also, delete your entire AddOns folder and force the game to make completely new ones.

My rig does run very hot sometimes, that actually may be it. I'll have to look into that. Thanks.
