Cataclysm will come out December 7, 2010. That date is also the 69th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. There no doubt somebody at Blizzard thought "hey wouldn't it be a cool coincidence if we made Cataclysm release on the day that will live in infamy?" Frankly, the thought of a Japanese company using Pearl Harbor as a marketing ploy for its product is deeply offensive to me. My grandfather will killed in Pearl Harbor. I have canceled my subscription, and I encourage other patriotic Americans to boycott Blizzard products. I have also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Thank you for your time.

I will continue to play WoW, SC2, and some day hopfully sooner than later will start playing Diablo 3. I seriously doubt blizzard or even activision put any thought into the release date rather than "When will our game be done?" It's silly to look too deeply into things.

If we were to cancel release dates on all the days where something horrible has happened in the past, then there wouldn't be any more releases at all.
