Can you use two capitals? For example could you use "FireElement" or would it come out as "Fireelement"?

Not sure, unfortunately I don't have a second mage to test myself. But I'd assume it'd work the same way as a hunter pet rename, allowing spaces and capitals. Not certain on things such as apostrophe's in the name, they could mess with the command.

Can't get it to work. All I get is the error msg. I copied the macro exactly and put the new name between the quotes...but nothing. Any help would be appreciated

You put the name between ""? cause if not you wil get an error msg

Didn't work for me first time, a relog solved my problem. Also, check for unnecessary spaces in the command, and don't to put the name in brackets.

Apart from that, I can't really help any further.

Actually a blue recently said that they plan on adding a feature in the near future to allow locks to reroll their pet names... Yes they will still be randomly generated like before but at least its some form of renaming...

Edit: just a thought, but there's that certificate that allows hunters to rename their pet, wondering if that works... I'll test after work tomorrow, unless someone's willing to test it of course.

I also was unable to change it after respeccing and it did retain the name I changed it to. Current hypothesis is that renaming it is on a shared 7-day CD with the Certificate of Ownership, but only time will tell.

This is rather fun and interesting, though tbh Water elementals arent too strong to begin with like a regular hunter pet. Still cool that it can be done with a hidden command,

TBH tho, you should all just rename it "Snare Machine", because thats all they do for you! ^.^
