just got my ele back up and running can someone help me please

I got my shaman back up and running. heals and ele.
but when I went to ele I ran into a few things I don't understand

orbs, does chain lightning proc more orbs than lightning bolt?
I tried it some and I just didn't see any more but can't understand why not. Maybe its just me.

I looked at my stats after the respec and I have 853 hit....WHAT LOL
really I never expected that.
What is giving me so much hit now?

I can't find a listing of redoing my hit, crit, haste and priorities can someone tell me what is what?
is it on jerks?

You haven't really researched much, or even read talents for that matter. But anyway, you can start by reading the elemental 4.0.1 guide at totemspot.com

Now, Chain Lighning does not gives more orbs than LB, and you will not want to use it for single target because it's just worse.

As for that much hit, 1 spirit = 1 hit (read Elemental Precision). So if you are sharing ele and resto gear, odds are you have a lot of spirit.

CL can actually give more orbs than LB if it procs on all the hits.. But since the proc chance aint 100 % (but 60 %) then there is of course a chance it wont. And yes the dmg isnt higher for single target anymore, so its recommnded to use it for multi target only.

Im not talking about aoe, but more like 2-3 targets, like the blood beasts on saurfang..

in Cataclysm you will gladly use CL even as ele because EQ is just waay too expensive to keep up

2-3 targets situation, CL is awesome.... it's always been....and if glyphed it hit up to 5 targets which is more than enough in most casesđ

Chain lightning isn't affected by the AoE thing.

Chain lightning is considered a cleave - hence it hits for full damage, was having great fun with glyphed CL on HC Saurfang last night, hits like a truck :-)

Deathwhisper Adds
Gunship whole shit
Deathbringer beasts
Putricide + ooze
Princes depending on colocation
Valithra adds
Sindragosa cubes on flying phase
Val'kyrs on Lich king

In all those situations, CL is better than EQ.
And also gives LS charges so you can keep single target dps going on.
Earthquake is pretty much used only for trash

Searing totem (remember being near boss) / Fire elemental on CD
Mana stream / Healing
Str agi (if missing buff) / Stoneskin
Wrath of air / Windfury (if group is missing buff OR you get 5% haste spell otherwise)

Gotta check raid buffs for different totems.
