New to mage leveling spec 4.0.1

I would like to know what is the current lvling spec for mage now ? isit still frost spec? and what glyphs/rotations do i use when im in low level dungeons? and can anyone link a talent tree for frost mage so that i can follow accordingly . Thanks

I think all specs are working pretty well for levelling atm, just go with what you prefer. Arcane is fun, frost is fun and fire is fun...Though, I think fire/arcane would be better for dungeons.

Hi there

Since level 15 I've been respeccing and glyphing from Fire to Frost to Arcane and wildly back and forth, I can share a few of my experiences so far:

lvl 15-40 Dungeons:

Fire - Low crit chance in leveling gear means Hot Streak instant pyros are proccing very seldomly, also means low returns from Master of Elements (15% spell cost back from crits). Also lacking fundamental AoE tools like Flamestrike and Living Bomb doesn't help. Ooms fast.

Ice - Reliable and safe. The pet and static 30% proc rate of Fingers of Frost from chill effects provide more reliable and higher overall dps than low-crit Fire, easily. also frost specialisation helps put a bit of oomph on your cone of cold, which helps competing on the aoe dps until you get Blizzard. Ooms quite fast too though, but not as fast as fire.

Arcane - Hard hitting, reliable and very mana efficient dps -if- you watch out for 2 things:
1. Arcane Blast is very powerful, but casting more than 2x Arcane Blast in a row in leveling gear and you go oom fast. However, the first and second Arcane Blast are very mana efficient.
2. Arcane Missiles cost no mana now and proc frequently, while hiting hard. Great way to cut back on mana cost.

Add to that the -2min Evocation cd reduction early into the tree, -0.5s GCD on Arcane explosion... I went from chain chugging vendor water after literally every aoe pull, to never dropping below 50% mana in low level dungeons again.

Well those are my experiences, at lvl 40 arcane is serving me fantasticly while I had alot of mana issues with Fire and Frost, which I both like alot too. I had a certain ammount of scorn and prejudice against the Arcane tree before, but now I'm in love and am having a really comfortable time both leveling and dungeoning as Arcane.

World leveling: Frost remains the safest solo spec, but at this point both fire and arcane can easily blast their way out of a few adds too.
