Mana tide totem and spirit dps'ers?

So! Was chilling around on my shaman, playing a bit in my resto spec. And Mana Tide totem now gives spirit(old news ye, but chill dawgs ;p), so I would like to ask for some other oppinions about this; Should we try to time our mana tide with the time where dps's nukes most (Also should we be put in the same group as mages as they get crit from spirit?)? Cause you know, 12 seconds duration with 350% spirit for all party members, thats pretty hardcore for any spirit scaling dps's. Hope to get some constructive answers and no flaming if my "theory" is totally fail, just say it once and i go hide somewhere if its the case! :]

Spirit is healer only stat now, DPS classes don't get anything from it.

Spirit is useless for dpsers - only boomkin and spriests gain anything from it anymore, and that's just hit. I doubt there's a time when they need a big ol' burst of hit rating.

What the other two dudes said. It's a healer only class, and no DPS class should even have gear with spirit on equipped =) It's the new MP5 basically

perhaps if we get a boss that diminishes the hit rating in some way I guess it would be nice..

shadowpriests and elemental shamans (balance druids too i think) use spirit gear for dps as blizz wont itemize spell mail with spirit and spell mail w/o spirit for 2 specs etc...
As far as i know spirit for those dpsers will transfer into hit rating through talent or w/e. Therefore mana tide totem wont affect actual dps of your dpsers, unless they arent hit capped, which is first stat they should go for

Elemental Shaman use spirit gear because it provides hit rating. As do Balance Druids and Shadow Priests.

I noticed one thing, and I could be completely wrong, but is there a back that isn't physical dps/tanking that doesn't have spirit?
