    Optimal 10 man Raid Group

I am trying to come up with an "optimal" 10 man raid group based solely on the buffs/debuffs brought to the table. Here's what I've come up with

    2 Tanks:
    Prot Warrior-12% armor debuff
    Blood DK-Agility/Strength...30% slow casting

    2 Healers:
    Priest-Fortitude
    Druid-5% Stats

    6DPS:

    Elemental Shaman
    - Bloodlust, 5% Crit
Arms Warrior-4% Physical damage, 30% Bleed Debuf
    Warlock-8% Spell Damage

The other 3 DPS can be whatever you like.
I would say Paladin, Hunter, and Rogue so we can give some love to all of the classes.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Have I made a mistake somewhere? Am I missing a buff/debuff? How would you go about setting up your group based solely on class mechanics, not player skill.

    Tanks:
    Paladin tank - Slower attackspeed
    Blood DK - Agi/str

    Healers:
    Shaman - BL/totems
    Paladin - Wicked healing durr
Shadow priest jumps in for fights that request three healers.

    DPS:

    Shadow priest - haste, fort
Mage - awesome ness class, 6% sp and some mana
Warlock - 8% spelldamage, spellpoerw buff (demo)
    Rogue - 5% crit
Feral druid - Bleed damage, will have to go boomkin in fights were shadow goes healer tho :P
Last one I don't care, Hunter for the kindness maby? :P

Would be my go, but that's because I like some classes more than others :P

Short version = One of each class, hur?

Rogues now give 8% spell dmg if they are Assassination, which most rogues are that now a days anyways. You only get the 5% crit from subt and subt raiding isn't that great. I would love if you could though. Maybe someday...

Considering the difficulty that I've seen on the beta with regard to 10 mans you should definitely have at least a third healer who can dps primarily if not a dedicated 3rd healer. From what I've seen most encounters will need 3 healers and you're not going to out gear them to the point of needing just 2 any time soon, if at all.

People seem to forget that hunter pets got lots of raid buffs nowadays.

Except their example uses two Warriors.

Don't forget that warlocks have Dark Intent
    And mages have Focus Magic

2 Tanks -capable of using CD's Preferably one with dps/healing off spec
6 dps -capable of switching targets ,3 range 3 melle preferably one with healin off spec
2 healers -capable of thinking how to get to do not get out of mana after 10 heals
You are ready to conquer the world!

For what fight? Some fights require more than one tank. Some fights are more healer intensive. Some fights are a dps race. There's no single best comp.

Without a pally, you'll need the shaman to drop resistance totem (aka glyphed healing stream). Without a mage (and a pally), you'll need the warlock to use a felhunter for the +int and +mp5. The warlock also has to sub-spec destro for 5% spell crit debuff on boss.

However, you'll still be missing 3% damage buff (arc mage, ret pally, bm hunter). You're also missing either 5% spell haste or 10% melee haste (or nature resist), depending on whether the shaman drops wrath of air or windfury. On top of this, you'll definitely want a hunter or rogue so you have misdirect or tricks of the trade for threat transfer. So, pick your last 3 spots wisely.

Having 2 warriors in your group makes it almost automatically wrong.

He meant besides the obvious cookie-cutter raid build.

Agh. I have this on a spreadsheet at home, what classes/specs/pets bring what buffs & debuffs, and how they stack or don't.

Non-stacking buffs make me sad: Might, Fel Intel & Abom might = 10% AP, 92 mp5, 600 Mana, so you may as well just drop the Might.

But yes, a BM hunter (who has picked up a good chunk of Exotics) can easily fill missing Buff/Debuff spots. Hell, even a MM/Surv hunter can bring many of these: -10% AP, Disarm, +30% bleeds, Str/Agi*, Hero/Bloodthirst, -25% cast speed, Hamstring, 8% magic damage taken, -4/8/12% armor, 4% physical damage taken, -20% attack speed, Fortitude*

*note: abilities scale with level, and are equal to similar effects (Horn of Winter/Strength of Earth/Battle Shout, Power Word: Fortitude)
