Which set of levels is in your opinion the hardest?

40 to 60, definitely. There aren't enough quests per zone, having you constantly to switch between continents to level the fastest way.

40-50 isn't bad, south STV > Tanaris can get you most of the way, and if you really need more you can hit up the eastern kingdoms for another three or so zones of goodness.

I find 50-60 to be awful right now, mostly because Blizzard's idea for levelling was to make you this great adventurer around...50-60, where you would be helping people all over Azeroth. Funny, as this means all the quests are designed around making you spend hours on your mount for a bar of experience.

I also hate Northrend...a lot.

definitely 50-58, everything else is cake, except maybe 40-45.
