Archaelogy - Leveling?

Hi there,

quiet a while ago I saw the video from Totalbiscuit about how he leveled his mage through archaelogy. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slg9rjHAqNo)

I'm now wondering, whether the experience this rewards is at intended levels or whether it has already been toned down. 120k per find seems a bit much, even for level 84.

I'd love to level through archaelogy, but I don't know whether it will be possible at the release of Cataclysm. Can anyone give me some information about this case? (Please, no guesses... I can do that myself..)

Logged onto my level 84 copied main two days ago and did a survey on a nearby digsite, I think I got about *edit* 27600 XP.

Logged onto my level 84 copied main two days ago and did a survey on a nearby digsite, I think I got about 48K, if I remember correctly. That probably equals, what? 2-3 mobs?

I assume all finds award the same amount of XP.

If possible, please answer these questions accurately:
- How much XP provides a single mob on your level exactly?
- How much XP awards a normal quest?

Wild Camel, level 84 mob: 5435 XP
Reduced Productivity, level 83 quest, as also mentioned on Wowhead: 43900 XP
Level 84 quests seem to yield 55200 XP.

Will re-check the XP from a dig later though, no time, gotta go.

*edit since a new post would only be added to this one anyway* I was wrong, looting an artifact granted me 27600 XP
