I've heard being an immigrant in Japan is quite hard. Apparently there's still quite a lot of xenophobia.

Yeah, people are actually really friendly to immigrants over there. I've done a bunch of research and talked to people who still live there today. I also watch a lot of vlogs on youtube of immigrants that live there too.
Main thing is money and continual income.

Maybe one day. ./shrug

I plan to move to Japan (In around 8-10 years) to teach English. I've never experienced racism, being British in Britain, and I'm actually quite scared about what I would find over there..

Well I was kind of hoping that by 2022 things would be a bit different. The adults around at that time probably grew up surrounded by the internet and I'm sure they would've encountered non-Japanese at some point over there.

I'm the sort of person that avoids confrontation completely. I've never actually thrown a punch in my entire life (I don't know how to, like, properly) I've never been in a fight either. The fact that I could get threatened for something I can't change really does scare me. I suppose that is just the extreme end of it though.

The latter part, same. I don't mean like get in a fight though, I just mean generally act awkward in their terms.

It would be different no doubt, Japan is a few years behind in terms of equality and such, but its getting there, as the last few years have proven.

I've read up a lot on it and when comparing the dates, things like "We're charged more for things" have changed into "We get stared at" through the times which is really nice to see.

I can't imagine seeing people stare at others for race like that though, I've never seen such racism in England. Perhaps I'm being a bit too naive but I've pretty much had a "protected life".

I've seen some racism, but its usually ehhh here.

Its not really charge more, as their economy is stable while others are rather flying fucks of doom.

Japan has always been an isolated country until World War 2, so their terms of changing and the lack of 'outside' people made progress slow in that terms.

The internet views Japan as some weird ass country because of the minority production (the anime community really, though there's some others) as the cultures are different, but its still the minority, which is like the US being judged by the rednecks in the south.
