I think you should watch Great Teacher Onizuka (gto)
it's a story about a young man , who was in a bike-raiders gang but he had to start being teacher (sorry to say i don't remember why) . Then all fun began , many pupils disliked him , but he had managed to make friends with them and they got in different troubles .
Frankly speaking , I had a lot of fun watching this awesome anime despite the fact that there are only 45 episodes

In reference to this, I am surprised. Merry and Gosick were the few I found appealing in the new season along with Kore wa Zombie (liked the 2nd episode as well, lol ceiling vampire ninja (>w<))... Also are you sure you're talking about Ore no Imouto? It wasn't even this season and it was superb at that. Also your praise for Fractale along with everyone else is duly noted... Need to try that soon.

Also is anyone aware of when season 2 of the World God Only Knows is coming out?
@Bolded: It's said to start airing this april. Looking forward to it much. Also Baka Test which should be sometime soon...probably spring season too.

Yumekui Merry has potential and Gosick I think will be enjoyable but nothing great in the end. Kore wa Zombie is looking great and I think it'll be memorable. Fractale is shaping up quite nicely so far. Of these 4, I'd recommend Kore wa Zombie for comedy/super cute female characters and Fractale for it's potential epic-ness.

In regards to madoka magica, I think it'll become something memorable. And a side note, while I don't recall it from the previous 2 episodes, the ending song + animation is kinda epic. Me thinks I'll be obtaining it....

Ack...They've pushed Infinite stratos one big step towards harem, and will likely complete it by the end of episode 3. It will probably go the route of Seiken no Blacksmith, unused potential.

You really need to check out Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica. It is NOT your typical magical girl anime. I consider it the Dark Horse of this season, yes it's that good.

The thought has been skittering across my mind, but PREPARE FOR SPOILERS PAST THIS POINT PPLZ there are a few problems storywise I see with that...
    1. She was already revived/saved/resurrected by a wish once, maybe they will say you can't wish for the same thing twice (a la DBZ)
    2. It was pretty dramatic and efficacious. For a character we've only known 2 episodes or so, it was a pretty shocking death. If they just go "Olol lets bring her bak 2 lief, every1 are happy no?" they sort of lose out on the impact of it
    3. Her dying also moves the story forward in another way. This way, it will really be Madoka and whatsherface fighting witches and dealing with Homura, as opposed to really more of what's already been happening (except they'd become Puella Magi or what not)

I could be totally wrong, but if they do "blow her wish" on said events, I really can only anticipate that Mami will be brought back as a normal girl (with no memories nonetheless) as opposed to a magical one.
    Just my 2 baht. (^-^)ノシ

And yes, you are right person just before me! Thank you for clarifying and clearing the name of Oreimo! *gratitude in bucketfuls*

I have been left with a lingering thought though, what if mami didnt barter on that...have you given thought to the fact shes read Madoka pretty well, she might have bet her life on madoka using her wish so as to make her a puella magi (since thast been her entire purpose since we met her). Remember shaft is crazy, I dont think theyll really disappoint us.

Didn't cross my mind, but that is pure genius. Numbers 1 and 2 of my contentions still apply (somewhat), though I see the sense in your prediction/speculation. How about something we can all agree upon?

Episode 3 of Mahou Shoujo Madoka was pretty intense.

At the very least Mami is going to be a plot device in one form or another, whether it forces the wish for that or just forces her to make a wish in general. Im pretty sure Madoka is going to make her wish next episode as a direct result of what transpired.

EDIT:: Do you know how many episodes this is initially slated for?

Pretty much read every post in this thread now, and I have to thank you all for mentioning Code Geass. That anime is so amazing :3 Also watched Black Rock Shooter but I didn't really understand it, perhaps I'm retarded >_< Anyway, hate to derail the thread but would you guys mind giving me any tips on any anime that resembles Death Note or Code Geass in any way. Like, the main character is really intellectual and wants to do good, but ends up doing some pretty evil things. If there even are any of that kind out there, thanks

Btw, saw someone mentioning watching some episodes of Beelzebub but didn't really know what to make of it yet, KEEP WATCHING! I'm reading the manga and it's awesome!

I think one of the closest ones on my list with this is "Darker Than Black". Maybe "Black Lagoon" as well though. Both are interesting regardless though. Maybe Mushi-Uta as well, but the conclusion is a bit different from what you want. Maybe Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou if you don't mind Ecchi Anime.

This thread is more popular than the entire sports forum combined! I've been watching the post count and from the day it's started it's had more posts than the sports forum. I say we lay claim to that forum for the good of all anime! After all, who really cares about sports anyways....

...unless it's a sports anime that is.

Hajime no Ippo is a pretty popular sports anime. I put it on hold part of the way through but thought it was ok.
Two others I haven't seen but have heard good things about are Cross Game and Major Season. Honestly though, this is one of my least favorite genres, so my opinion on this probably isn't the best.

as ^ said, Hajime no Ippo is a great anime (boxing related).
Slam Dunk is also really good (basketball related).

Those are the only two I can think of that are really similar to each other. Baccano! and Monster are two others you may want to look into though that are somewhat similar. Gungrave also has some hints of those two but it is much more action oriented, especially towards the end
