well a guy falling in love is the gist of it but its exceptionally well written the animations are good and it also got quite some humour in after story its probably the saddest anime most people will ever see but its still awesome it also has a happy end after all the bad things that happen

I actually liked that. Sure it's deus ex and all that but it made it more bearable, otherwise it would've been way too sad for me to handle. I just felt really bad for him so I welcome any happy ending.

Guy falls in love with a girl and a bunch of good comedy and glorious drama/tragedy.

Sure it's not end-of-the-world awful, but the concept of it is just stupid. It makes me think that writers are scared to have sad endings and only have happy ones. I like it when a story can break the ending tropes that plague so many stories. I'm not saying a good ending is bad, but an ending where the bad guys win or the good guys don't live happily ever after should still be possible. It happens in real life, why not stories.

Amnesia - That cliffhanger. I guess it's on to another arc? Right when things get good they revert time. They have to be doing this on purpose just to piss us off. I want to see that fan club get bitch slapped so hard. I'm still wondering what the promise was in the first arc though. Maybe each arc that "wish" is another guy, and there is a club for each guy in each arc?

I entirely agree. Usually a hate happy endings, and prefer bitter-sweet endings.

(After Story spoilers)I think a decent ending would have been around episode 16, where he learns the truth about his father and everything. He'd have to live without Nagisa, but he has found something else to live for, that being Ushio. Of course, the creators weren't done yet, and Ushio had to die too. At that point, what could they have done? I don't know how Tomoya could have even lived with himself. I couldn't foresee any sort of slightly happy conclusion, and I don't think I'd be happy with an incredibly depressing ending where he commits suicide or something.

Sure, it wasn't the best ending, but after all that emotional turmoil, sometimes it's nice to have an ending where everything works out.

The ending should have been the second he started yelling after she fell the the ground. We don't know what happens after, and it just ends. Who cares if it's the saddest thing ever? It's SUPPOSED to be sad! Worse stuff happens all the time in real life, why not stories? Stories start to get boring when they all end the same way.

If someone wants a non sad ending they should go look for a different show, not expect happy endings in absolutely everything they watch.

No offense, but that would be a horrid ending. It provides no closure, and leaves no lasting message besides "well, life fucking sucks, get used to it".

You act as if happy endings are common, but in recent times (maybe not anime, idk, i've only recently got into it) it feels like bitter sweet endings are becoming the norm, at least in well developed fiction (not talking about twilight or other useless crap).

If they ended it there it would've been a lot better. A really good bitter-sweet ending.

It was kind of disappointing seeing even more failure with his little sister not making it into the High School, but one thing with this anime is first there's failure, then there's failure again, then maybe again, then a success that wouldn't be as good without the failure before it. I loved the backstory this episode between Jin and Misaki, and I really like that bearded teacher in just a few scenes.

The last scene was really good though. Both the fight, Jin giving Misaki the ring, and them running off after leaving the teachers on the roof. The note left on the door got a really good laugh out of me. Just a few episodes left, and I can't wait to see what the end of this show will give us.

Unlimited - Hyobu found out who he was fairly early on in the show. I seriously doubt that he'll be able to escape getting killed by Kyobu, so something has to happen. At this point it looks hard for him to stay on Hyobu's team, so it ending like that is one really big cliffhanger into what is going to happen now.
Sakurasou episode was pretty good, but both Misaki and Jin were being annoying and negative that ep. I loved how he gave her the ring though, sort of like a promise that he'll marry her? Loved the random banter while they were talking from Aoyama/Mashiro/Sorata about holding the door: "Stop pushing me Shiina, push the door!" But man is Sorata a wimp or what? Looked like he had a chance earlier on, but then he just got flat out owned by Jin.

Unlimited - Dayum, shit's about to go down next episode. I doubt Hyoubu will be able to do much against Captain America, due to his magic-nullification. But we'll see what happens. It seems Hyoubu only loses his "time" whenever he uses his Unlimited power. it could mean that his limiter is actually negating his aging process? What if it just speeds it up?

From the looks of it, it seems like the new arc is going to start, probably Yellow next? Chicks from the fanclub just need to go take a hike, felt sorry for Ikki in the end, he wasn't able to really "love" someone until now. On another random thought: I got a theory that the green-looking guy, that always says "Hey there, nice to meet you, or have we met before? <Insert random advice>" might actually be another manifestation of Orion. Since we never see Orion and Green-dude at the same place, and they both seem to be aware of her losing her memory. Might be a long shot but the thought crossed my mind.

Evangelion 3.0 was pretty damn good. I know a lot of people are complaining about the time gap, but I'm confident that's gonna get covered in movie 4 before we get our conclusion to the story.

It wasn't a deus ex ending in the visual novel at all. Ushio manages to send him back in time so he can collect enough orbs of light to eventually get back to that point and save them, which involves playing through other routes and getting the correct endings for everyone, all the while knowing you're going through that loop over and over in order to save Nagisa and Ushio. It's a long involved process to save them after you first see that tragic ending, assuming you're playing without guides. There's just no way to adapt that to an anime in a good way, but I think they did the best thing they could while still remaining faithful to the original. I agree that it's not the most satisfying ending in the anime, but I don't think there's any better way to adapt it without deviating from the original big time.

also any other ending for clannad after story would have been strange the whole season start was all about those orb thingys and how they grant u a wish when u can see them and afterall tomoya could see them so something had to happen with them! otherwise to many loose ends :x

FSN is def worth the VN though, the anime tries to do the first of the 3 routes, and throws in bits and pieces of the other 2 and ends up butchering it. Then you ahve the movie which does the second one (did it alright imo)
