Shingeki - Me and the people I'm streaming it for were all on the edge of our seats. When they showed inside the Titan's stomach and the girl was talking of her mother and the pain of burning in the stomach acid we were so creeped out. Definitive oh shit moment when Eren went titan mode from [I]inside[/I] the titan (too bad he didn't save that girl) and then again at the end when he stopped the canon shot. Fucking amazing.

In a nutshell, it was my mistake. I was into anime, searching around for things to watch and that series had come up a few times as being fairly high on peoples' lists. So I gave it a try.
I could tell pretty early on that it wasn't for me. In fact, if anything it managed to distill much of what I hate about anime (and other fiction in some cases) into just one series:
-Semi-clueless male protagonist
-Circle of females that are attracted to him despite this
-Tsundere female lead
-Pervy homosexual character
-Not one but two flavors of loli (grade-school and middle-school)
-Bonus cat girl
-Obfuscation of topic with a cinematic/artistic gimmick (in this case the repeated insertion of text frames so rapidly they cannot be read)
However, against my better judgement I continued to watch it because I figured it'd somehow click or I'd "get" what people found engaging about it. I forced myself to finish it, and after I was done felt like I wanted to mentally puke it back up. After that point I've had a harder time getting into anime series, probably due to an association-by-disgust.
So as I said, I'm not trying to "blame" anybody/anything since it was my call to keep going on something that really didn't agree with me. But it still "broke" a lot of my anime enjoyment.
