i have a question why do my avenger's shield only trick on 1 person i saw some can do it on 3 ?

I think you have to glyph for it to hit 3 targets. But it causes less damage?

You have Glyph of Focused Shield. Remove it. If you don't then you're not looking carefully enough and your shield is hitting 3 targets.

If you have the glyph i whould recommend to remove it.

As said above: the ability on its own hits 3 targets. You can glyph for it to hit 1 with 30% extra damage and you can glyph for it to daze the targets (2 separate glyphs), it still silences all it hits.
Now depending on your role you could swap some in and out, for trash obviously it hitting 3 targets is nice, I as MT in raids use the 1target+30% glyph for bossfights, and the daze glyph is useful in pvp and situationally in pve.
