Is getting Cataclysm Special Edition just a waste of money or is it worth it in your opinion?

In my opinion, I've been playing the Warcraft series since Orcs and Humans. I own a lot of merchandise from the franchise, so buying the collectors addition is a huge must for me. Soundtrack, artwork. It really depends on your want for the extra stuff that the Special Edition comes with. So far, I haven't been disappointed with any of the Collectors Editions for every expansion!

It looks.. it looks just like all the other Collector's Edition boxes; boring.

The normal edition box looks pretty bad-ass though.

Pre-Ordered it three months ago

Definitely worth it, it's only another $40.00, which you could spend on just the mouse-pad alone, or the original Artwork book, or pretty much almost anything in there, but you get it all!

If i'm not mistaken most places are already sold out on the CE of Cataclysm since there was a limited quantity, unless you plan to buy one off of Ebay which will be way overpriced.

I usually get it for the art book. blizz art is amazing.

A new mousepad is long overdue for me, but considering the state of my current one I think I will just buy a seperate one for that to avoid wrecking the CE version.
It depends on what value you place on the extras.
Personally I like the extra content, and feel the additional cost is worth it, but it is personal preference.
Say $10 for pet, same for mousmat.
$10 for Soundtrack and DVD.
$10 for the Book.

I feel that is pretty cheap for most of that, not even including the trading cards.

I highly doubt you'll be able to find a pre-order for one right now though. My local gamestop ran out of pre orders in what seemed like September, maybe early october? I love my Collectors Editions though, certainly not a waste IMO.
