You don't actually lose the title if you have it already, it's just no longer obtainable by anyone who doesn't have it.

They're removing the 'everyone stay alive titles' for good reason, but I'm curious why they're removing the 'gear requirement' titles that require you to be in a certain lower level gear in order to achieve them.

From what i understand, the titles are becoming feats of strength nothing else. Feats are strength are obtainable, there is no "you must get before this date". There would be a good deal of blue posts if those titles were being "removed" rather then just changed to feats of strength. I'm leaning towards the fact they'll still be obtainable just no longer give achievement points are they are the sorta feat of strength titles you'd expect.

I would be willing to bet that its not till cata due to gear change which was the reason they are removing them in the first place.

The reason why is that even if you have level 80 gear, you still have level 85 spell and ability coefficients, not to mention spells you didn't have at 80, which gives you an advantage. Consider it "out-ability-able" or something.

You srsly need source for everything? Has Blue mentioned that those titles are going to be removed? NO....

From what i have heard Herald of the Titans is staying as well, even in Cataclysm. Problem is if you have anyone higher then level 80 in the grp (81,82,83....) then you are not eligible for acquiring the title and the achievement. That said i don't have any proof since i didn't bookmark the web page i have seen the information on.
