    Post your gaming setup!

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING THREAD-SPECIFIC RULES BEFORE POSTING:

    • Do NOT post images that exceed 800 pixels in width; use thumbnails instead, with a link to the original picture. Imgur.com is a great place to upload to, as they give you thumbnails on all images.
    • Do NOT quote entire posts without breaking the image links; if you plan to quote, please remove the [IMG]-tags.
    • Do NOT post to tell us you will be posting pictures soon, these posts are unnecessary and simply clutter up the thread.
    • This thread is not intended as a "fast question - fast answer" thread; if you want to know what kind of computer + peripherals you can get with a given budget, ask in the "Computer Build / Upgrade Help" sub-forum. Creating a new thread there is greatly encouraged.
    • This thread is for posting builds and questions/comments directly related to those builds, please keep off-topic discussion to the Computer Forum Chat thread, or, if there is enough substance, make a new thread in the Computer Forum.

Those empty pill bottles concern me. But a nice rig indeed, I envy you. I just ordered a new rig and it's way weaker. i5 760 and GTX 460, but I guess it'll be good for a few years.

    My rig..

    Hello

Ive noticed a lot of people have the Cool Master HAF Case.. I remember when that thing first came out.. massive case.

OP You should consider cord management. Thats what nice about the big case and all the port holes; buy a pack of zip ties and go to town, use the back side of the case. I would post a picture; but I don't have enough forum posts at the moment.
I have done it with 2 GPU's 5 HD's and 3 CD Drives in the case. It makes it much nicer to clean out of dust; and just simpler to maintain.

I personally still refuse to venture into multi-monitor setups till they find a way to make monitors that have NO edges whatsoever. 1-2inch combined edges ruin any sort of experience to be had. And with something like WoW you're not exactly increasing your FoV (field of vision) with multiple monitors, it's not an FPS/Flight simulator....I doubt Wow even supports higher FoV values :P

    My awesome WoW rig:

    Case- Gigabyte Luxo
    PSU- Hyena 500w
    OS- Windows XP Pro 32bit
    Mobo- Gigabyte EP31-DS3L LGA775
    CPU- Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 @ 2.33 ghz
    Heat Sink- Stock
    RAM- Corsair 2x1GB Dominator DDR2 800mhz
    GPU- Sapphire HD5770 1gb
    HD 1- Seagate 320gb SATAII
    DVD- Samsung DVD-ROM

    Keyboard- Logitech Deluxe 250
    Monitor 1- ViewSonic VG2021 20" 1400x1050
    Mouse- Logitech MX-518 Gaming Mouse
    Pad- Piece of paper
    Speakers- Auriga Stereo desktop speakers
    HeadSet- Logitech mic + headset

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    To be built

Case- Cooler Master CM Storm Scout
    PSU- Corsair HX-750w Modular

Just got this new setup but haven't had a chance to really play with it yet. Haven't even installed WoW yet! We're changing up the office a bit so no pictures (wife works from home now so I don't even know if I'll be allowed to stay in office with my PC). Will post pics once my area is decided upon, free of clutter, and completely set up.

    Internal Components
Case: Cooler Master 942 HAF X (red internal lighting)
Mobo: EVGA X58 SLI 3 Edition
PSU: 1200 w Corsair AX1200 (Overkill for now. See GPU comments)
    CPU: Intel Core i7 950 OC @ 4 GHz
    CPU Cooling: Noctua NH-U12P SE
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 1.5GB Black Ops Edition (Adding and additional one in March for sure and a possibly a 3rd next December)
Memory: 6GB DDR3 1866MHz Corsair Dominator GT with airflow fan
Sound Card: Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium
HD 1: 80GB Intel X25-M MLC Edition SSD
    HD 2: 1TB Seagate 7200 RPM 32MB Cache
DVD: Some brand I can't remember

    External Components
Monitor 1: TBD (Haven't completely decided)
    Monitor 2: Samsung SyncMaster 204B
Keyboard: Razer BlackWidow Ultimate (Ordered and awaiting arrival)
    Mouse: Razer Naga
    Pad: Razer Destructor
    Speakers: Bose Lifestyle V20
Head Set: Shure SE115-K Sound-Isolating Earphones with generic PC mic (Don't like over the ear headphones and hate a mic stuck close to my face)

    My system, purchased Jan 2009:

    Mac Pro
2x XEON Quad Core CPU 3.2 GHz
    14GB RAM DDR2 800 MHz
ATI Radeon HD 4870 512 MB w/ HDMI out
5TB Internal Storage (12 TB external)
Standard Mac Pro tower (ambient temp averages 38C, runs extremely quiet)
    Regular 8x DVD-RW
Built in HD Digital sound channeled through Yamaha 5.1 Surround Sound system with independent receiver and sub
42" Pioneer Plasma TV hooked up via HDMI directly to video card
    Standard wireless keyboard/mouse
Nice comfy LAZ-E-BOY recliner w/cup holder.

I used to get about 35 fps in Dalaran with everything on Ultra (even shadows), but now that the city is deserted, I get close to 45.

I actually JUST purchased parts for my new rig on Newegg, taking advantage of their Black Friday deals. This is what I got (current rig is obsolete, won't bother mentioning it):

COOLER MASTER STORM Sniper ATX Mid-Tower chassis
    ASUS Sabertooth X58 motherboard
    Intel Core i7 950 CPU
COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus CPU Fan/Heatsink
    6GB G.SKiLL DDR3 1600 Triple Channel RAM
    XFX RADEON 6870 Black Edition
Corsair 750 Watt 80 PLUS Silver Modular PSU
OCZ Vertex 2 60GB SSD (OS, 1 game, most played)
150GB WD VelociRaptor x2 (all other games)
---- Cannibalizing old rig for storage drives, 5 TB in all, and DVD burner ----
    Acer S211HLbd 21.5" 5ms LED-backlight LCD Monitor

I'll be using on-board sound, as I'm done fooling around with sound cards and the quality for gaming is moot anyway. Somewhere down the road, I'll be getting a second XFX 6870 BE for Crossfire. I also already am using a Logitech G15 keyboard, G500 mouse and G35 gaming headset... What do you guys think? I made out pretty well for under $1400.

If you ever fancy researching into "monitors with no edge" I would recommend you start here.
