I have to wonder why you chose a lot of these things. I'm assuming that perhaps you need the 2600K and 16GB of RAM for actual workstation purposes? Or do you only game? Because in gaming your wife's 2500K most likely will do better. Also, does your wife need 16GB of RAM, or was it simply since RAM is so cheap, why not?

850W PSUs? You both could have gotten away with 550-650 watt quality power supplies and had no problems whatsoever, 850 watts is simply a waste of money.

I hope your Vertex 3 SSDs work better for you than they have for other OCZ SATA III customers.

I built these rigs with the future in mind. the last rig i built lasted about 3 1/2 years. i plan on going SLI with both comps in the near future and thus the 850w psu.
also the power supply is fully modular so its nice being able to remove un needed cables.
as far as memory it was cheap and i though what the hell might as well. i am going to school for engineering so i am starting to use cad programs and such.

as for the vertex 3 i have heard nothing but good things from the recent batches.

overall each computer came out to about 1600 dollars each built by myself. so in the end it was a deal i couldnt beat.

If you want to run SLI GTX 560 Ti, a 650w is more than enough. Especially without overclocking and only one drive.

The only thing I would have changed is the Seagate drive, but that may be personal opinion more than empirical evidence, I just consider them "budget" drives compared to Western Digital Caviar Blacks (or even Blues) and Samsung Spinpoints.

The "non-green" ones are 7200 RPM and come with a decent cache-size. Odds are that any difference is going to be quite vague.

Do you have more than one HD 7950 in your build?
And yes, do give pics! Although at a glance it sounds like your computer is a lot like the one I had mere month ago.

It's super simple! Either select "thumbnail" from the imgur menu or simply add a "L", "M" or "S" at the end of the image name, like so:

Original:
Large thumb:

Will look like this:

It is a very sturdy case and I don't see many of them around, I really want to redo the whole case though. Tear it apart, mount a horizontal motherboard tray, create a custom backplate, paint it all and maybe mod the roof to fit a MO-RA3 radiator. Sadly these things are all in my dreams and budget/time restrainsts tie me down. I would love to do it to it one day though. Since PC items generally follow standards it will most likely be a very good case in the future too.

I should stop reading this thread, it make me sad of my own computer which is a Ti calculator when compared to the ones I've seen on here XD

Well, I'm going to address something to do with your future rig instead.
a. GTX 570 ti? I think you mean the GTX 560 ti 442, or the GTX 570.
b. HX Pro? I'm pretty sure that doesn't exist. Did you mean HX 750?
c. WD Caviar Blue? Now I feel a lil' case of blues.
d. Are you set on the NZXT Phantom? NZXT recently released the Switch 810 as well.

Yes those were a accident. I used to have it at 560ti and forgot to remove the little "ti" on the end. The power supply is supposed to be Corsiar HX750 XD And yes.. I am set on this case I belive. I have yet to look at the new one.

The feel? It's an all around good case. My only "serious" gripe is the lack of rad space, but rad space is rare in most cases. -.-

Aired, I would assume the 7950's you are using are the Windforce models? If so, how are the fans for noise? When I upgrade I want to get one or two of those cards and am unsure what the noise rating is like compared to cards like the Twin Frozr MSI cards.

Is there any other minor annoyances with it? I get easily annoyed with small things when it comes to computers xD
