Just finished my new rig, encountered a couple of problems including a dead SSD and the noisiest water cooling ever. Aside from that I'm very happy with the build.

    Spec:
    i5 2500k : 4.8Ghz
    Gigabyte Z68x-UD3P-B3 motherboard
    16 GB G.Skill RipJaws DDR3 1600Mhz RAM
MSI HD 6970 OC 2GB video card
CM Storm Trooper full tower case
    Windows 7 Home Premium
OCZ Agility 3 120GB SSD as system drive
OCZ Agility 3 120GB SSD as applications drive (Drive is DEAD, worked for about 10 minutes then kaput)
Seagate Barracuda 1TB SATA III HDD as data drive
Antec Kuhler H20 620 water cooler (great at cooling with cpu temps of 50c to 55c at load, but very noisy pump)
    OCZ ZS 750w Bronze PSU

I will RMA the drive, but wish I had gone for Crucial M4's now, and I guess I will have to put up with the water cooler noise.

Check to make sure there are no cables touching any fans, even if it's only ever so slightly. Could also disable the fans and enable one at a time check for choice.

Posted this in the chat thread but might as well share it here as well. This is what I'll be using until my new rig is up and running.

E6600 (which I couldn't resist overclocking a bit to 2.8GHz), 4GB RAM and a GTX 260. It could definitely be worse. What bothers me the most is the noise... and I miss my Xonar DX.

Put in the NZXT Hale90 too, to get a feel for it, and must say I like it ^^

White Vengeance RAM looks as good as I could have hoped really, nice clean white with a nice 'blocky' shaped to it I guess you could call it.

And finally the H100, with the F12's I decided to stick on it. Planning on p/p but will have to see how big of a difference it makes over just push // how much space it takes up.

I think with some white sleeving and a decent looking 680, I should have something to be proud of ^^
Added in the mobo/RAM and mounted the backplate. Ordered the sleeved cables and stuff today so will prolly do all the cable management when I get those o/

    Looks real nice!

I'm still not sure if I want to get an MSI mobo to fit the blue scheme for my build, or an ASrock mobo since they have a bit better reputation.
I didn't want to get the latter because of the yellow accents, now I see that they don't really "jump out."

    Hm..

This is my first pc build which I built a few months ago, upgraded from an pre-built compaq so this is a massive improvement. so I thought I finally have a worthy build to post.

    specs:
    Case: Fractal design arc midi
    Mobo: GIGABYTE Z68X-UD3-B3
    CPU: i5 2500k @ 3.6GHZ on stock cooler
RAM: Corsair vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) LP
    GPU: Asus GTX 560ti 1GB
    HDD: western digital blue 320GB

    Peripherals:
    18.5" monitor
    Logitech 2.1 speakers
    Razer naga epic

pics: http://imgur.com/a/mk6Zf#vBzeS didn't take any of the inside as my phone camera isn't that good and the cable management isn't very good.
Now i just need a new monitor.

Aside from the obvious needed upgrades (better monitor/keyboard) I'd say try and get a new HDD and/or SSD, but otherwise looks like a great build! Is that the white Vengeance LP RAM? Get a picture of the innards!

Ye I will be getting a new monitor/keyboard soon, I got the blue vengeance ram although thinking about it now that might have been a better colour choice.

I will fully endorse (and I know several other uses here too will) the Corsair Vengeance K90 as a beastly keyboard, especially good for those of us who play lots of games, MMOs especially, or type a lot. Also the full-size wrist-rest is damned AMAZING. Idk why the K60 only has a partial wrist-rest on the left side, but I would be very annoyed with that.

In terms of monitors, any ideas in mind what size/resolution/quality you want?

LOL, So far no problems. But who knows, only time will tell. If it ends up crapping out on me though, I will most likely get a patriot wildfire, one of my friends highly recommends those. Also, maybe I'll up the size to a 240, but hey here is to hoping it doesnt crap out

I would hope not! ADATA has been around for a while though too I believe, not sure why they never got big, perhaps it's that weird name? :P

Yea, I havent really heard anything bad about them, so I took the chance on it, It's about a month old now and still working great. Of course now that I took the leap into SSD, I dont think I could ever go back to anything else for an OS drive. Booting up in less than 10 secs is awesome, anything longer just feels like an eternity now. Been thinking about getting one for my laptop.

  17. #6657
A guildie has had an ADATA ~120GB SSD for about a month now, haven't heard any complaints from him about it yet.
