Even for an air cooled setup it's got tons of fans doesn't it?

  2. #7542
I saw the video, I liked the pivoting fans for the Hard drives, but I hate the side windows like that. Using an Azza Hurrican, by the time I get a new case I might look at the 810.

I'd like to take a moment to thank Marest for his sample builds, which helped this first time builder put together an awesome "core" machine (with a little help from my brother and a 12 pack). Also I'd just like to say that this computer forum is a pretty cool place in general; I mostly just lurk here but I've learned quite a bit from it.

So I'm planning a build to have here. I'm that sufficiently high level of crazy, yes.

Presently, the planned build goes along the lines of this:
P8Z77 Deluxe (for double antenna, shinier heatsinks, buttons & debug LED)
    Intel i5 2500k
    Corsair Dominator 16GB (4x4GB)
    EVGA GTX 680
    Corsair Force 3 240GB
    Corsair AX 750
    Corsair 600T

...that's a lot of Corsair, but not really intentional.

    As far as picture goes...

Had to do some minor changes after some bank disagreements stopped me from placing my order earlier...

Upcoming PC is going to be
    Intel i5 2500k
    P8Z77 Deluxe
Corsair Dominator 16GB (2x8GB) I wanted to buy two pairs, but I'd somehow misclicked and only ordered one, lol.
    Corsair Force 3 240 GB
    EVGA GTX 680
    Corsair AX 750
    Corsair 600T

...at least I know my warranty's gonna be real good with almost every one of these companies.

    Oh, and also!

drunken drop the 2500k and board and do an EVGA LGA 2011 xeon board with 2 $210 xeons would be sexy.

Xeon is pointless for gaming. And the evga srx has pink expansion slots.

I wouldn't touch the new EVGA SR-X board unless I was paid to do it, nor am I the slightest hyped on Xeon processors given their locked multiplier. I contemplated an X79 build, but I don't find it useful for now anyway.

Just swapped a laptop off a mate for a Xbox wireless controller lol, Needed a hard drive which i had and is now running Backtrack fine.

Is old with dual core turion 2ghz, 2GB ram and alleged dedicated gfx but will do fine for wifi hunting in the jungle.

What are you trying to build with 2x GTX 680's? A nuclear reactor?

As I understand it, nuclear reactors aren't exactly ones for needing tons of computing power. O.o

Well that's good then, since 680s aren't very good at computing to begin with :P

Went for the 690 myself. Sure, completely useless (just like 2 680s) but I'm just the kind of person that wants the latest thing. Ah well, at least I don't gamble or do drugs...

I only wanted one card, but the guy was selling two. For a time I'm probably going to put it in SLI just to see this microstutter thing in person and get some idea about the hassles involved, but generally I'm only going to use one card per machine.
