Nice card, the Windforce X3 cooler is really good (and quiet too).

my exact card right there BE FUCKING CAREFUL WHEN ITS RUNNING! the blades are sharp as hell and even at only 20% fanspeed i cut my finger when it touched the blades

But its a great card. running Crysis 2 maxed out graphics with no fps problems. didnt have a counter but i couldn't see anything indicating fps under 30. Running a 1920x1080 monitor.

Just got that card a few weeks ago. Runs super quiet and cools great. Crysis and Crysis 2 on ultra while running 2 monitors and recording with Fraps. You will not be disappointed.

My card came today, amazingly quiet compared to my old HD6970, it really is in a different league in terms of noise. Happy to say that the jumbo jet leaf blower graphics card is a thing of the past.

Performance wise I'm really impressed, a bigger jump than I expected and it was able to run Project Cars at full settings with 8x AA/16x AF at 1920x1080 resolution, didn't have the fps meter up but it was silky silky smooth. Safe to say that I'm extremely pleased, can't believe how quiet the cooler is.

All reference cards are loud, and they will continue to be.

I have an HD6970, and I can easily say that it's the least noisy component of my build, wheras I cannot say the same about my Corsair PSU and Noctua NH-D14

I am posting specs for now, but will have some pictures to show off tomorrow hopefully!

    ASUS P8Z77 motherboard
    Gigabyte GTX 670 video card
NZXT Switch 810 Black full tower computer case
    Samsung 830 128GB SSD
Seagate 1TB 7200RPM HDD *I think it's DOA. I turned on my computer last night after building it all day long and it didn't even recognize it but tomorrow I am cracking the case back open to do some mods so I will be checking to make sure all the wires all plugged into it*
    G.Skill Ares 1600 8GB kit
Phanteks Blue 140mm Heatsink, with 3 fans
    Intel Core i5 3570k overclocked to 4.1GHz
Kingwin 1000W PSU *I know you will say its over kill but I used 2 different websites calculators and will all the modding I plan to do I needed atleast 1000W as they both suggested. I also liked it because it was the color blue*
    Razer Naga Epic mouse
    Razor Tron Keyboard
    Razor Tron mouse pad

I have to say the heat sink I have is keeping my CPU really nice and cool. Never above 30c so far with the things I have done with it, which is mostly getting the software onto it and playing WoW. I don't really see the need to really push it and strain it just to see the results of it though :P

If you like it, it's fine.
But you could run it off of a 360-400w PSU as it is right now.

My OCD made me say it.

make sure you check your disc manager to see if that sees the hard drive. Sometimes they dont show until you format it there.

Oh guys, what about the GTX 570? I am thinking about getting one. I need to save up though, I am only 18... I have a GTX 460 now, but I am not satisfied anymore since it is a pretty old card now, series wise.

Well after 2 very frustrating days, I'm back up and running with my new components. Will upload pics soon but this build was a freaking pain in the ass, murphy's been in full effect both days >.> and on top of that I had to shave down to 1 video card or buy a new psu, which I cant afford at the moment so I had to lose a video card.

    Also huzzah 2500 posts.

A little update for my build.

The exterior / peripherals are basically the same since the last time. The only thing that changed there is the keyboard, which is now a Das Keyboard Model S professional silent.

But the internal components changed quite a bit. After some hardware problems i upgraded the following:
    CPU: i5-750 -> i5-3570k
Heatsink: Scythe SamuraiZZ -> Scythe Mugen 3
    MB: Asus P7P55D -> Asus P8Z77-V LX
VGA: MSI HD5770 Hawk -> MSI HD7850 TwinFrozr III

the only thing missing now is a goddamn extension cable for the front case fan, so i can plug it into the mobo for rpm control. (currently it runs directly off the psu with 100%, which is not silent enough for me)

And like the idiot i am, i took apart the computer on my desk, in front of my monitor, and managed to let slip one side panel. Now i have a small, but nasty scratch on the upper right corner of the screen

While the 570 was good for its time, there is now better cards available from the current gen, which is where I suggest you invest. Upping to a 570 from a 460 is honestly not the best investment, especially considering you could up to a 7870 or 670 instead... much better.

    460 1GB vs 570
    460 1GB vs 7870
    460 1GB vs 670

Now unless you can get the 570 really cheap (well under $250) I would not suggest it, aim for a 7870 (newer rendition of 6970) or a 670.

Now for the final update on my system.

    AMD Phenom X6 1090T > i5 3570k
    Coolermaster V8 > Corsair H100
    Gigabyte GA-990FXA-D3 > Asrock Z77 Extreme4
    Crossfire 6970 > single 6970

Had to lose a video card or buy a new psu, decided to drop a card because I've spent a ton on this already. Now for the pictures.

    New stuff

    Full setup

    Close up shot

    Old stuff

I'll get a shot of it working one of these days. It's given me so much trouble lol.

850 watt PSU is where you went tremendously overkill, unless you plan to go dual or triSLI 680s in the near future. =S

Also, your arrows at first made me think you were saying, Phenom II > i5-3570K, like it owns it. =X Should use "->" arrows. :P

Otherwise, looks awesome! I seriously love ASRock's color scheme and all on their mobos... let's hope they start making GPUs soon, imagine a GPU with a heatsink like the ones on the chipsets and VRM chips on the Extreme 6/9.

Why would you have to drop a video card?

3570K uses less power than a 1090T, Z77 uses less power than the 990FX...

Unless you plan on overclocking past the point of reason, and even still an 850W ought to be enough.
Statism: Total bliss is just one more regulation away.
